Mike,

I'm completely stunned to read your post today. I am very sorry for you. Many have already offered sincere words of encouragement, but always remember to not let this beat you. God has a plan for you. You can't know what that is until it happens. This past week I was again reminded that God is always there to provide all that is needed. My faith was weak. I doubted. I worried. I feared. Would Milah Jean survive her interview? Would there be a denial? AR? I must tell you that I attended our Wednesday Lenten church service because it was being held at the moment she was at the embassy for her interview. I hoped that maybe it would help. As I sat down I opened the service program and I just about lost it. The opening hymn was Change My Heart O God. My sweetie sang that song to me many times during the past several months. It gave me hope and faith. I knew that God had a plan for us. It was humbling, and I let go of all of the fear that I had. The next day I learned that her visa was approved, and also that the embassy had released it for delivery. O ye of little faith, I thought. I am not worthy of such a gift. Was God finished with me? No. Again on Sunday, guess what? That hymn was again sung during the offering collection. Again, another reminder. But, the most amazing moment of that day...the closing hymn was What A Friend We Have in Jesus...listen to that hymn, hear those comforting words. God in His way had once again reminded me that if you give your problems to Him, all will be fine. All you need is trust and everything will work out as God has planned. May God bless you both.

Michael

NO VISA 221g.....

Well Lorna was refused a visa. They said she needs a co-sponsor. Even though my property assets were way over the minmum allowed for property assets.

My craft business has been really bad the last couple of years so my income is way below minimum. Thats why I used property assets.

And the CO was talking to her about how would I support us and how could she even afford the plane ticket.

Thing is a co-sponsor has nothing to do with my income and how I will support us. That is just to take care of public charge stuff.... which my property assets could have done.

Bummer is I have no one to be a co-sponsor. I don't know what to do now.

My spirit is really hurting. All that time, work and effort....and stress. Now this. Wow.

Thanks Mike and everyone for the encouragement.

Yea, I totally beileve everything you said. But its hard not to want to do it myself. Kinda a "God helps those who help themselves" kinda thing.

I tend to over indulge and then....worry... then try to fix things. And I felt I had done everything required. So I just sort of ran out of gas when this happened.

Now I'm studying....again trying to learn exactly what being a public charge is and exactly how long it will take for Lorna to become a US citizen so I can give facts to whomever I ask to be co-sponsor.

But its hard right now cuz I'm so drained.... Gods in control and I know His will will be done.

I feel bad for Lorna just hanging there in Limbo....waiting for her new life to begin.... that hurts.

Take care my friends,

Mike

Mike

This is so disheartening. I can only imagine the hurt you're going through now, but difficult as it is you have to be strong and be good to yourself and Lorna. I'm with Kuya Alan (alanluvsjudy).... this is a hurdle.. not a wall. You can make it happen, Mike.

our interviewer seemed nice and told us not to worry coz everything is in order. then he slammed us with the AR at the end yet he still told us that it's standard procedure and there's nothing t worry about. what's confusing is if this is a "standard procedure" why aren't we seeing AR's for the same reason? they are basically cross-referencing w/ NSO to see if our marriage is valid. guess the pages of phone calls, emails, bills, bank accounts, 2007 tax info w/ both our names weren't necessary for them to check during the interview or enough to prove that.

hello win78 im sorry to hear that you are under AR now.. What are their basis for holding your visa.?. They did not even tell you why? i think that is really unfair... I wish and pray that your AR will be lifted soon..God Bless !!!!

Boo

sorry to hear that mike. and sorry i couldn't reply to your PM. our internet went down for about a day. i hope you can resolve your issue ASAP. i too am trying to keep my hopes up. but it is hard. i'm already thinking of plans to see if my current work will allow me to be a contractor and work from here in manila via internet.

Now this. Wow.

Mike

on a brighter note, my employer sent a letter back home letting me know that they have extended my leave of absence until may 31. there is so much things we have to take care of on top of this BS AR. congrats to M&M for getting their visa.

everyone else getting screwed by this process, let's try to keep our heads up. i know easier said than done, but what else can we do right?

For those of you who experienced or know for sure, does it matter if a girl is on her period during the time of her medical?

According to St Lukes it matters. Go early.

What if it happens you still have it during the scheduled appointment or the period arrive unexpectedly during the time you are there at St. Lukes? What are the consequences? My fiancee is worried so as I. Need opinion from experts :)

Hi cocopuff,

With your interview on April 25th, your fiancee's medical exam should be scheduled around April 18th, right?. She can go earlier than that.... 2 weeks to a month before April 18th should be ok. She can just time it so that the St. Luke's visit doesn't fall during her monthly cycle.

Good luck!

Gen
