Does anyone know when Manila gives out new interview dates?

There is also a phone number to the Department of State, somewhere in this thread, that you can call on the 15th. They usually have it and will give you the info before the website has it posted, or at least that was the way it happened in Feb. I called the number on Valentine's day and found out we had an interview schedule. It was a fantastic Valentine's gift.

Have you checked this site? VisaAppointment... i never waisted my time or money calling the embassy about the interview. based on time lines, the interview is approximately 4 months after the Embassy receives the petition from NVC. Ken

I am wondering if anyone has experience problems with their baggage being a little oversize while flying with PAL. My understanding is that the total maximum linear measurement is 107". She plan to use 2 - 20x20x20 inch boxes which has a total linear length of 120". She told me that during her CFO seminar she was told the airlines are stricter with nonimmigrants travelers (e.g., K1 VISAs).

We just came back on PAL to Honolulu on 24 feb and I saw many Balik bayan boxes on the baggage belt. I did not see any difference in the non-immigrants that processes at the POE with us or the rest of the passengers on either end. Maria used one of my 5ft dive bags and it was full. The biggest concern is weight, do not get over 70lbs each or she will have to pay for excess baggage which is not cheap. I did see the folks at the check in with their measuring tapes, taking measurments of the boxes and extra large luggage. Good luck, Ken & Maria

according to USE manila website i can call "1-888-877-9888. There is a fee assessed to callers by the call center for its services" anyone know how this fee works? i've paid $18 to get a pin number. i got my pin number and have been on hold for over 16 minutes. is this $18/minute or $18 per incident? it's after 6pm manila time. should i hang up and lose $18 for nothing? all the fees that the embassy asks during this who ordeal have been outrageously expensive with no service to match the amount. i don't mind paying the price but can we get the service to match it. 53pesos a minute no answer and US $18 per God knows what and still no answer. someone please shed some light on this. i know some of you have already called in philippines and US. "we apologize for the delay please hold for the next representative". if i get a dollar for everytime i hear that, i'd be rich!

well if anyone is near makati and want to join me in some san mig light action let me know. i still have some Patron left too. this whole thing is turning me into an alcoholic. man, i so need to go back to smoking :(. well if someone can share more info on calling the USE manila, i'd appreciate it much. whether calling from philippines and/or from US. thanks

hey bro, m not 100% on this but i think i read somewhere in this thread few months back that the $18 is per call, no matter how long the call took with 1 free follow up call after that.

My wife has been here almost one month now. I guess it is typical for women that cross continents to live with their spouse to be "homesick." My wife is having ups and downs with this. Periods of sadness and crying are sometimes daily. Someone suggested that a section for this be started. I think it is a very good idea.

I'm so sorry to hear your wife is so upset and unhappy. Just give her time and try to comfort her as much as possible. She will eventually come around and open up to the new living arrangements. Let me know when you open the new section for her. That should get her out of her sadness somewhat....

I am wondering if anyone has experience problems with their baggage being a little oversize while flying with PAL. My understanding is that the total maximum linear measurement is 107". She plan to use 2 - 20x20x20 inch boxes which has a total linear length of 120". She told me that during her CFO seminar she was told the airlines are stricter with nonimmigrants travelers (e.g., K1 VISAs).

20+20+20+20+20= 100 total girth that is the length and all 4 sides.

Keeping her busy with something will help and yes I agree that for most it will past quickly.

Some do take longer than others due too having a many friends and family around them all the time, then boom a big change!

Change is not easy for anyone!

im sorry to know that you are under AR for over a month now. That is really very scary... I wonder what are their basis for AR this is very sickening.. I hope and pray things will be easier for all of us...(did they tell you the reason for AR just curious?)
