I called the embassy again today and the said....no update...case is referred to consular is al they could tell me...i'll call again on friday....you would think its such a simple thing to just look at the pics we sent and send the visa for processing....and so we wait ...and wait....and wait.

Jazzy, you've been in AR for almost 4 weeks now. 2-6 weeks is average wait for AR so here's hopin' that Jasmin will get the visa in two weeks.

Just an update as we have not had a chance to get on the internet until now. PW, Visa delivered Makati Feb 27th (7days). CFO clearance Feb 28th AM, flight to Tucson Feb 28th pm. Mira and I just arrived in our home, thanks to god. POE LAX, no problems. Going to do laundry now, hehehehehe.

Ok, you guys have got me curious. My fiancee doesn't have the internet at her home, just at her work. I have unlimited internet here. So how does it work? Does she have to be online for us to talk? or just me?

She has to have DSL connection at home or wherever u would like the put the Vonage device.. You both have to have vonage for unlimited calling (US and CANADA) and no, you dont have to be online to talk. you just need the Vonage Device, DSL connection and Telephone (cordless or corded) to talk.

by the way, Happy Trip to ate Ana!!! and Im leaving tomorrow to meet my fiance, Wohooooo!

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this before. It was on my mind and I thought I would tell everyone. I keep seeing people on the forums complaining about high telephone bills.

I dont know if you ever heard of vonage. I had vonage send me a phone I configured it to use with her internet and then sent it to the philippines. I talk to my many many hours a night. Every night.The best part is that I only pay 25 bucks a month for unlimited calling. I tryied useing yahoo messanger to call but it didnt work so well. The thing about vonage is that its hardware based VOIP; so it never goes through your computer. Also you connect a regular phone to it so you dont have to be stuck at your computer. There has been like 2 times in the past two months when her internet was so slow I could hear her very well but other than that it works so so well. Her internet dsl even has bad connection and it still works very well.

Hi! I have vonage too. My fiance sent me one and it works so great! We were spending alot on phone cards and we were so happy when we heard about vonage and subscribed asap. We talk as much as we want now and I also get to talk to my other friends in the states. Whats best about it is that i can leave it here in the Philippines and I will be able to talk to my family and call them anytime I want especially if i miss them.

Me too, my husband sent me vonage and we both save a lot from phone cards.

Chat and Mides, your fiancee should have an internet connection for you guys to subscribe to vonage, the connection should be fast and reliable like DSL or broadband so the line is not chappy and will not get disconnected. Go to www.vonage.com for more info.

well vonage is good if your fiance can get internet service... which is about 900 php or 18 usd plus vonage rate is 24 that is 45$ plus or minus....

but there is another alternative.. one i use... you can use callpinoy service www.callpinoy.com you pay 99 a month and your fiance in the phils gets a cell phone or a sim card (free cell phone if she lives in manila) (sim card if she lives in cebu or other areas) and you can talk to her for unlimitied minutes a month.. she doesn 't have to be home to be able to call you you can call her anywhere she is..

vonage is good and it is cheaper but she has to be home for you to use it... callpinoy is a cellphone based service not a VOIP service so you and your fiance have alot of flexability in talk times check it out....

they also have cheaper plans where you get 300 to 1000 minutes free a month and its 8 cents a min after that depending on the plan and your fiance gets a free cell phone...... so check it out...

Aloha to all. I have two quick questions to ask. Recently, we made a change to my fiancee reservations with PAL. Fortunately there was no change in the price of the air fare so we only paid the rebooking fee of just $25. We paid the rebooking fee at the PAL center in Makati. The PAL office issued her a paper ticket. My question is, will she be asked to pay the travel tax at the airport? I assume she still needs to. I paid the original eticket through expedia.com. My second question is that I've read on VJ the security fee of 200 pesos will go in effect at the beginning of the year but some members had left the country in Jan without having to pay the security fee in addition to the terminal fee of 550 pesos. Is the airport now charging this security fee? Mahalo!

Sheriff, Question about the SS-5 for the SSAN application... Block 3, I assume K-1/3 unless you received an EAD at the POE will check Legal Alien Not Allowed to Work???? In the directions it ask for proof of the Alien status to be sent with the aplication. Di you send in the K1 Visa (with passport) or just a copy of the I-194? I hope I am not the only one that could not figure this out ... Ken & Maria

altough the question is not directly to me, I offer little information. Yes, you will check the box Legal Alien not Allowed to work unless you have a temporary EAD stamp in your passport.

Alien status proofs are copies from your bio info's in your passport to entry stamp in your POE, to K1 visa and to I-94.

Yes, to simplify, It works just like the phone you have now except instead of being connected to the telephone line, its connected to the internet. you dont even have to have a computer, just a high speed connection.

And Yes Vonage Rocks! I subscribed a year ago and kept my regular phone service...I had that cancelled pretty fast, vonage beat my phone service on EVERY facet.
