Thank you so much for sharing what you have written in your letter. I might do just that. But for the meantime I think I should be patient enough and wait instead. I guess I'm just being PARANOID, BIG TIME!. I dunno, it is turning out this time for me that waiting for the visa delivery is far more stressing than preparing for the actual interview itself. Hahahaha. Crazy huh? We'll maybe because right now after knowing that you got approved and yet you still don't have the visa, you begin to think if there is something wrong, could they possibly need additional documents? If yes, what are those and how come they didn't inform me? Instead what the CO told me the last time is that he is wishing me good luck in my upcoming life in the US, I even ask him if it does mean that I am approved and he told me ''Yeah, thats it" and instructed me to go outside and wait for my number to be called for further instructions. I dunno, I guess its just my mind playing tricks on me. Hate it. Hehehehehe. Oh well, wish me luck and please pray that I still maintain my sanity as I go through this phase, hehehehe.

God bless to you both!

Hi Karen,

I apologize if you've already stated so but did Delbros ever send you a text letting you know that your visa is about to be in transit? Jinky got a text from Delbros on Friday afternoon the day of the interview stating that they will keep her updated as to the status of the visa delivery. She got her second text the following Tuesday (after holiday) that stated the visa was in transit and she should expect it within 1-2 days. It was delivered to her the following day (Wednesday).

If you paid the Delbros fee, it might be faster to call Delbros to find out if the visa has been released to them by the Embassy. If it hasn't, then I'd follow what Fel recommended - a letter of inquiry to the Embassy.

Good luck...hope you get to the bottom of it soon! :star:

Hello everyone!

Just wana share that im in SF already just last friday, Feb 23, 2007. It feels so amazingly good to be with Eric!

The flight was okay, i flew with PAL 9pm flight to SFO and arrived 5:30pm same day :D. The immigration guy was very nice, i presented my passport and I-94 and the brown envelope, he stamped on some pages and on the I-94 while asking questions at the same time like.. who's the lucky guy; how did we meet; if i have ever travelled to the USA before; when is the wedding...etc etc.. but he didnt ask for the X-ray and im glad coz i checked it in together with my luggages :P. After he finished doing stamps, smiled and said... Okay! Welcome to the USA, I ran to the luggages and mine was among the last to appear since i was first to check-in in Manila :D. When i found my luggages and passed by custom guys, they only asked what i brought and then let me go to the exit without scanning my things, i went to the EXIT and Eric was there, standing and smiling with bouquet of roses and hugged me and kissed me with so much happiness! (L). We celebrated then Visa day, Valentines day, our Birthdays... we call it B-V day! :D

So THANK YOU ALL, [esp mention: to PW, Uling, Steven&Jinky, LuzyC] youre all very helpful since the start of this journey, and please stay helpful as we go on to the next part - AOS.

Hello Everyone, I find myself here with nobody to talk to about this and hope that some of you possibly will be able to shed some insight into this serious issue for me. My wife has been here now in the USA for 18 days. I have tried to be the best husband that I can possibly be. I take her places, out to dinner and even cook gourmet dinners for us. I am an indepenent broker and my office is in my home. My day's are somewhat busy and sometimes hectic from 8:00am to about 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Since my wife arrived here, I have made a point to take a few hours away from my work. My wife seemed to be sad and unhappy over the last few days. She is not the type of person to say what is bothering her or complain. I finally got her to tell me what is bothering her. It seems that she is feeking lonely and scared. She has made numerous comments that our neighborhood is very quiet and she rarely sees anyone outside. She relys on me for transportation, as she has not taken her driving exam yet. I live in a community next to the ocean, so its about a two or 3 mile drive for shopping, dining, etc. The biggest problem she describes to me is she is scared here. She isn't sleeping at night. She says it is because she is scared, as she hears noises above the master bedroom of which is upstairs. She thinks it is a spirit or a ghost walking around up there! I am serious, she thinks this. I hear things also and I have explained to her that it is the rustling of the very tall Palm trees outside our house. It is always windy or breezy here, as our house is a stones throw from the Atlantic Ocean. My wife is a smart person and well educated, so that isn't an issue. I respect her culture and beliefs and know that this fear is real to her.

This is serious and to the point that she wants to return to the Philippines. She is lonely and scared and I just don't know what to do. All of you have become like an internet family to me, so I am hoping that possibly some of you can share experiences or shed some insight into this issue for me. I am very frustrated, as I don't know what else to say or do. You can send me a private message if you prefer. Thanks, Glenn

Hi Glenn,, my wife recieved her visa yesterday and Ive already thought about this. Living in manila and then coming here to florida will be a big change for her. I live north of tampa up by brooksville on a piece of land larger then her city streets. . We will be out on my boat alot fishing, but i'm sure she can handle only so much of that. I thought about spending a weekend in St. Augustine, riding the bus and seeing the sites and eating some good food. In april there is a big philfest in tampa, We will be there saturday and sunday. My wife will feel more at home I think. My friend has a filipina wife also and I think once one of them gets a driver liscense it will be off to the malls. Plus my wife will be retiring this week from her job so there is another transition to be made. They are going to need some time to adapt to our peaceful lifestyle. I remember in manila some guy out in the street at night yelling baloot all night long. I would have bought them all just to get some sleep but I knew he would be back again, haha. Well, if you can come up with any ideas feel free to contact me. archie

Hi Steven,

Thank you so much for taking sometime reading my dilemma and giving your thoughts about it. By the way I was able to meet Jinky way back at the Mega Star Dinner we had a couple of weeks ago, we did chat a little and she is very likable.

I got the same text message Jinky had, got it in the afternoon the same day I had my interview, it does state that they will keep me posted as soon as they got my visa from the USE, but that's just about it, I did send them a text message yesterday asking about the status of my visa, and even went on to their website to check and got the same result stating that shipment is still in process at the embassy. I'm just wondering about it, its been 6 days since I had my interview and they are still processing it, I wanted to know if there is something that they need from me so that I can attend to the matter immediately if that is the case. I even tried calling the USE call center number a couple of minutes ago, thinking I could do an inquiry, but I had no luck, can't get through, the line is always busy. I even asked my fiance to do the same, PW gave me the number which US citizens can call and make an inquiry, for the moment I think my fiance and I will keep on trying to call those numbers and I think I would call DELBROS as well.

Thanks again!

1)When I go to Delbros to check our delivery, is our waybill the same as our "MNL2006761xxx"?

2)Lilia said she was given back 2 photos she had given St. Luke's???

1) My waybill had an additional "01" at the end of my case number. Example: MNL200612345601

2) Hmm, that's strange but maybe Lilia gave them more than they needed?

PW, The immigrations folks actually take the X-Ray if Honolulu is your final destination. I am not sure what they do if you are just passing through.

Good you brought this up Ken. So maybe it would be wise for people to just handcarry their x-rays even if they are just transitting through Honolulu.

If there are any of you going to Mainland USA but transitting through or doing POE at Honolulu, please let us know how Immigration handles your x-ray.

Please say hello to Maria for me.

(4 days to go!!!)

How's the migraine, Steven? Still building up? Ayayay!:devil:

Who’s in the picture with Jinky? Her sister? She is pretty like Jinky.

Today is much different for Rosemarie and myself. I know that God is shining upon us.

We are happy to hear this good news, Glenn. Once Rosemarie is hooked up with other Filipinas, she will feel much, much better. It's like being part of one big family again which is the one thing that she misses most.

Hi Chad,

Welcome to the Manila thread!

NVC sends the petition to Manila in two ways ~ via electronic transfer (takes a few days) and physical transfer (takes 3 weeks or more). Your fiancee will receive a Pre-Interview letter 4-6 weeks after the embassy receives the physical file from NVC.

It will be a waste of time and money to call the embassy while you wait for interview because they will not be able to tell you anything. Assuming embassy receives the physical file of your petition on March 5, you may start checking for interview by going to this website http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp and typing in your case number. In your case, I would start checking the website after April 15. The embassy usually updates the website between the 15th ~ 25th of each month.

There are loads of info about K1 process in Manila in Sheriff's signature. However, please feel free to ask questions here if you think you cannot find answers to your questions.

Updating list to congratulate robhankins and to welcome Jeff&Boo and chadmides.

(4 days to go!!!)

How's the migraine, Steven? Still building up? Ayayay!:devil:

Who’s in the picture with Jinky? Her sister? She is pretty like Jinky.

I think I'll just howl at the moon for the next few nights. :P

The person in the pic is her friend and colleague (another dentist). :star:

I was wounding if anyone has tryied to schedule a k1 visa appointment useing "Visa Point". You have to pay like $10 to join the system but after that you can make a visa appointment. Im sure its too good to be true but it doesnt hurt to ask to see if not why??

Fel, it was fun to be sharing with you the excitement while waiting for boarding, wished we had same flight, but im happy to know that you had safe flight and youre very happy now with your Franko!

Tessa and Ana, have a safe flight this weekend! Hope Ana will fly via SFO too so we could meet again! Miss you guys! You rock girls!!!

Lyann (joone45) it was nice meeting you in person few days before my flight, looking forward to have someone closer here in the US.

Congrats who just got approved and Goodluck to all whos next in line for the interview!

Girl, IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! and awwww... what Eric did was soooo romantic :)

Im so excited to see you again in San Francisco.. Im going to see my Munchkins very soon! 3 days more!!!

It was nice talking to u again and its so nice to hear how happy u guys are to finally be with each other.. Miss you girl and Ingats

Hi Mari! Glad to know you're in SFO na. Is it cold there now? Hala dali, tell Eric to bring you to Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, atsaka doon sa crookedest street , I forgot the name of that place. Ah, Lombard Street pala yun. Wow, sightseeing galore!

I checked the embassy website and while they say this ....

Can someone applying for a petition-based, nonimmigrant visa use the online system?

Yes, the online system can be used for all types of nonimmigrant visas. Applicants for petition-based, nonimmigrant visas should make an appointment to coincide with their intended dates of travel, and can make the appointment prior to receiving their required paperwork from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or the school they applied to in the United States. However, a visa cannot be issued without the approved petition or official paperwork.

http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwhni28.html

.... they also say this

VisaPoint ™ also provides information on immigrant visas for applicants who are pursuing legal resident status in the United States. However, VisaPoint ™ cannot be used to schedule immigrant visa appointments

http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwhvpnt.html

My assumption is that visapoint is for petition-based, non-immigrant visas like student (J), (Crew ('C) temporary workers (H/L), Investors (E), etc. and not K visas. While K is non-immigrant, the intention is to adjust eventually to immigrant status. The K visa is also processed by embassy's Immigrant Visa Unit which is schedules interview according to "priority" hence K does not qualify for VisaPoint. But that is just my humble opinion.

Any one wants to pay $10 and try to schedule a K appointment using VisaPoint? Who knows, we might be in for a surprise.

What is the number of NVC? Is it the National Visa Center?

We got approved in Feb 13, 2007 but we have not been instructed on where is our case now.

Yes, NVC is National Visa Center. The number is (603) 334-0700 press 1, then 5....

In all probability, the electronic file has already been transferred to Manila and the physical file will be transferred in another week or so. In 2-4 weeks from now, your fiance will receive a letter from the Bu. of Consular Affairs and you will receive a Pre-Interview Notice from the embassy. I know it is hard to be patient at this time but give them allowance to process the papers
