I apologize if this has already been talked about before, but I'd like to know who here was able to have the beneficiary purchase their plane tickets in the Philippines?

I am hoping to have Jinky purchase her plane ticket through a travel agent the day after her interview.

I remember someone posted earlier that if your fiancee purchases the tickets, the travel agent will ask to see her Visa.

If that is the case, how are we able to purchase plan tickets far enough in advance to get the cheapest tickets available?

In our case, I purchased the plane ticket in advance thru PAL and Jhen picked it up from the Ticketing Office (where she paid the travel tax). However, she could only pick up the ticket after receipt of the visa. I am not aware of how the travel agencies handle ticket purchases in the Phil.

Thanks, Sheriff! I was hoping to save from paying the extra tax.

There are two unavoidable taxes. The travel tax of 1620 PHP for domestic and business flights, and the airport tax/fee of 520 PHP that is paid before the traveler reaches customs at the airport.

My wife is buying her ticket Friday so I'll let you know what happens. She already reserved the ticket at Northwest without a visa, so I'm not sure but we will see if they sell it to her Friday. Thanks,

Hi Gary,

I suppose your wife and i were together at the embassy for the interview but with so much people in the room and I had to attend to my other two children as well, I did not really have time to look around. We arrived at the embassy at 7am and finished at 10am.

Regarding the tickets, I usually buy mine at Northwest, Atheneum Bldg, Makati and I have been able to reserve for them but will buy them only after the visa is oh hand, just to be on the safe side. I got a $748 rate for MSP to MKE for one way and $1400 for round trip. You can pay in pesos or USD.

Keep in touch in case you need some help. You may also call them at 841-8800 to ask when is the last day for option to purchase.

Pre-Interview notice is in a regular 9.5" x 4" letter envelop

hey folks, hope someone can clarify this for us, i think we are ok, but just want to be sure. with all the talk about late registered BC's, exactly how do you know if a BC is late registered? On my wifes BC, from the NSO, in block 25 date prepared is the date of her birth done by the midwife at the birth, then in block 20 Received in the office of the Local Civil Registrar there is no signature or anything, just the stamped date which is abt 1 month after my wifes birth. this would not be a late reg bc, would it? thx 4 the help!

anybody else had it where the local civil registrar did not sign but only stamped d date? thx

As for us, the visa was delivered to manila. Actually, my baby met lebby at the interview but my girl dont know much about this site. She knew I was on a forum and said she talked to a 'girl there that was on a site called visa journey'. I laughed telling her that was the site I go to...after listening to her experience and checking the interview schedule above, I concluded it was lebby. We confirmed by descriptions and the home town.

Oops I forgot I wanted to ask one more thing and it wouldn't let me edit my post. I will attend Sheryl's interview. What questions did the CO have for you specifically?

I checked the NSO web site yesterday fo rthis exact same thing. basically if you have a late registered BC, it will be 2 pages with the 2nd page being an affidavit explaining the late registration and there will be a stmp on the BC "Late Register". This is according to the NSO web site, but as we all have seen before, not all thing in the PI are as they should be. NSO also states the Birth should be registered within 30 days. If the date on the BC is within 30 days of birth, you should be ok. Ken
