Welcome to Hawaii. Yes it is the time of year when Hawaii has rain, winds and the temps during he night drop below 70 .... the wind and rain make it feel like 60 but it is ok. We'll give you guys a call when we get back after the 24th. Ken & Maria

Hi everyone, my ####### is here in Hawaii now but JESUS CHRIST! I AM FREEZING! I thought it's not cold here. Anyway I arrived here at 6:30 with stopover in Guam. POE is guam and they took my packet from there. I met few girls who is going to Houston and thier packet was there too in Guam. I believe it's US teritory and it's our POE. That was it! I hand out our packet, passport and boarding pass. Did finger scanning with picture taking lol. The CO told me that I have 90 days to marry and adjust the status. Got the stamp and heard the word WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES! That was quick totally. I saw few girls carrying thier bones lol ( i mean the x-ray film) hahahaha and I asked them if why are they carrying thier bones.... Was joking around hahahaha. It wasn't needed so better keep the x-ray films in your luggage if you want.

Well I'm glad to see my fellow cr-1's getting some good news!!! Have any of you, Soul, Michael, W1n, got your packet yet from the NVC? Or just an interview date from operator? Just curious...my god took them long enough, i was sure you guys would have heard last week.

Dims, saying a prayer for you to get a march date also....crossing those fingers!!!

So you know guys...with the cr-1 they don't set a st. lukes appointment...just have this done at least a week ahead. You will have to send your benificiary the appointment letter you get from the NVC. St. lukes will make a copy..of course bring passport and photos. Jasmin had no problems with that...her medical is now done and we are waiting till thursday for interview....we are kinda expectin AR do to her daughters late registration BC...so we are prepared...who knows maybe we'll get a nice surprise.

If you will go back in this thread there are some excellent postings about the type questions they ask and how it is done. Especially helpful is "Patiently Waiting", referred to as PW, and Sheriff Uling. Both of these are excellent sources and I suggest you read everything you can on these two, that is what we have done, hopefully it will help us.

We should be close to the same interview time, but who knows? We are hoping for an April Interview, as are many others on this thread.

PW, I saw RigerAf today (all 3 of them)... I think the beaches in the Philippines are prettier and better scuba diving there alos... Just my opinion. 10 day I will be there and 11 will be the interview and VJ gathering. I am beginning to scourer through the packages and second guessing myself LOL... Who want Valentines treats for the dinner LOL. Ken & Maria

In case anyone is using Northwest Airlines, I want to share my ticket purchase experience. My wife was going to be leaving from Manila to USA on Sunday, but she was running a fever. So we decided Wednesday instead. I went online to exchange ticket at the price was $1100 more! I said no way. (I had paid $720 for the Sunday ticket) This morning I went on NWA and bought the same ticket for Wednesday that had said $1820 for $720 again! So, what I am saying is their prices change frequently. So if you want to search there prices, check back everyday or so. It paid off for me!

Wow guys it was truly amazing seeing Ken here in Hawaii. He saw us at the shopping center inside the military base while we were lurking around stuff ang grocery shopping.We were truly shocked hearing someone calling our names but hahahaha wow Ken! Thanks for recognizing our face.

PW didnt get to see the beaches here yet...and I don't have any plan or any interest to do so.... Hahahahaha SOBRANG LAMIG DITO! I saw the beach down the military base and I think it's common down to our place in Siargao Island. So for the meantime I am just going to spend time re-arranging our apartment and will just go surfing once I get bored at home. You know boys...they have thier own ways arranging thier stuff hahahaha.

Fees departing Manila: I am trying to prepare Rosemarie for her expenses at the airport in Manila. I know there are some fees. However, I don't know how much they are. can someone please tell me. I want to be sure she is prepared for these expenses. Thanks for your help!

Glenn, PW did a good run down a few days ago, search for her post and you will find it, but I'll give it go here. There is a 550 peso departure fee, supposed to be an additional 200 peso security fee upon departure but when I left on 15 Jan it still had not been implemented and if you bought her tickets online, she wil have to pay the 1620 peso fee at an agency prior to arrival at the airport or when she checks in. Let me recap:

Daparture fee : 550 peso

Security fee: 200 peso

Foreign Purchase Tax: 1620

PS: The departure fees are paid after u check in and they stamp your boarding pass.

One more question Please! Rosemarie has to get her sticker from the CFO for her visa. She hast attended the seminars, but needs the sticker on her Visa/Passport. She went to Quezon city to take the seminar. Where does she go for the sticker?
