Philippine travel tax is set at P1,620 if travelling on economy and business class; P2,700 if travelling first class; and P810 reduced travel tax for children.

There's also the airport tax of P550 and P200 additional fee effective January 1, 2007 but it seems they are not imposing the P200 yet as some people who have gone through the airport lately can attest.

I may have seen someone mentioned this before but i've having a difficult time in booking a one-way ticket through PAL. The error message that I received is "Sorry. We are having difficulty in validating your credit card. You may wish to enter details of an alternative card and try again. (M009)." Has anyone experienced this situation and if so successfully how did you get around this (besides using another card)? I used my VISA card. Aloha.

I have 4 different credit cards and none of them work on the PAL website. Apparently it's due to the Mastercard SecureCode and Verified by VISA they are using.

I have emailed them numerous times about this and all I get is a worthless canned response. I don't think they care if they sell tickets on their own website.

You can book PAL on Expedia for $5 more, that's what I did.

I experienced the same thing using PAL website. After several calls to PAL Reservations, they told me there was problem with the website. they couldn't take payment for online booking. they quoted me a price $200 higher than online to book by phone, so I booked thru LBC Travel.

We bought tickets last month on the PAL website using a credit card. The first time I tried, the transaction failed. I tried again the next day and it was successful.

Until now I continue to have problems booking directly with PAL. I took your advice to go through Expedia.com. Though it was $5 more, I was able to go through the transaction. My fiancee will be issued an eticket. Aloha.

I also found the Cebu Pacific Air was rejecting my credit card so I called the credit card company and authorized it. So, it might not always be the website and it's worth a call to the CC company to see if they are rejecting it.

Rosemarie has a fever, so she will not be leaving on Sunday for Florida. I contacted NWA to change her flight departure date to Tuesday 02/06. They jacked the price up from $719 to $1838! No way did I buy that ticket! They also charged me $100 cancellation fee!

I was looking on Continental Airlines. They have Manila to Honolulu, to Houston, to Jacksonville flight. The price is about $700. My question is this: In her interview they asked her POE. She answered Detroit. If she lands in Honolulu, I am assuming that is her new POE? Also, is the airport in Honolulu easy to navigate? Rosemarie has never been any further from Cagayan De Oro than Hong Kong in her life.

hey glenn, doesnt the CO flight change planes in guam first? to my knowledge CO doesn't go direct to hnl from mnl. i've flown the CO route to mnl before, the guam airport, from what i remember was fairly easy to navigate, get off the plane and there was only 1 way to go which took you straight to immigration/customs. so her POE will be guam. hnl airport i don't remember too much about, but i'm sure there will be many other filipina on her flight that can give her some direction, but no need to go thru any kind of customs or anything, just get off the plane and find ur next gate. and if she is going CO all the way then her departing gate should be fairly close to her arriving gate. good luck! congrats! ur almost there!
