Manila Embassy Interview

I have another question. Actually I should probably post it in the CR-1 forum, but there are many smart people here, so I'll try here first.

I just received the affidavit of support papers from my sister-in-law, Fely's sister. She is the joint sponsor. There are two mistakes she made on the I-130, and I wonder if they are important enough to have her redo them. First on item 1 she checked e. second of two joint sponsors. She is the only joint sponsor. I figured I'd just white this one out and mark d. only joint sponsor. I doubt this one matters much. The second issue I'm not so sure about. Item 19 she marked "I am a lawful permanent resident. My alien res number is...". But she also sent a copy of her U.S. Passport. Doesn't that make her a U.S. citizen? Does this matter? Should I just leave it and let NVC figure it out? Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks.

(By the way, concerning the PAL website, when I made reservations last August it wouldn't accept my credit card either. But then I tried a week later and it was working.)

We have bad news, are case is under AR for a few reasons. I am still getting the details for her at this time. We will have too wait now, she was told a week. Not a good start!

Just think positive vic&el4ever. Ill be praying for your visa too. Hope El will be able to provide the docs or info needed by the US embassy as soon as she can.

Ingats,

Thanks for everyone's support,

Questions come up now:

Can I call the manila too ask what is needed or is it too soon?

I was told by Eldalin that they was going too review, so maybe nothing else is needed only too check something.

Wow Vic&El sorry to hear about your setback we are praying for an early resolution to your AR. It won't hurt to call, but whether they will release specifics over the phone is another matter. I do know they are obliged to put in writing the reason for the AR. Does anyone know if you can ask for the written reason immediately one is informed of AR and before you leave the Embassy?

I called them today too ask about our case and we told they are doing nomal checks of our case, that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to complete :crying:

Now we are back too waiting again.

I did not have the issue. Have you tried calling the 1-800 number or using the email or chat with agent functions? If you have never visited the online website for your card to do an electronic verification, that might be the problem too. Ken

I may have seen someone mentioned this before but i've having a difficult time in booking a one-way ticket through PAL. The error message that I received is "Sorry. We are having difficulty in validating your credit card. You may wish to enter details of an alternative card and try again. (M009)." Has anyone experienced this situation and if so successfully how did you get around this (besides using another card)? I used my VISA card. Aloha.

Hmm when I booked, I went through Kayak that brought me to the PAL page...wonder fi that was the difference? Ken

I have 4 different credit cards and none of them work on the PAL website. Apparently it's due to the Mastercard SecureCode and Verified by VISA they are using.

I have emailed them numerous times about this and all I get is a worthless canned response. I don't think they care if they sell tickets on their own website.

You can book PAL on Expedia for $5 more, that's what I did.

Hi to everyone! :)

I had my Medical last Jan 29 & 30. I arrived in St. Lukes 3 am and finished 9 am on the 1st day. I came back the 2nd day 5 am and finished same time 9 am. I got 1 vaccine only (MMR).

I had my CFO seminar also last Monday and all went good.

The process were all very smooth. The employees in St. Lukes were very nice and I got a good morning greeting and smile from the receptionist and the x-ray lady. I didn't have to wait too long for my turn. Usually I'm the 1st or 2nd in line.

Thats my reward of waking up 12 midnight and leaving our house here in Batangas 2 am.

Were now preparing for the Big Day.... INTERVIEW..... FEB 16....I'm very excited

Thanks.

Gary, did you mean mistakes she made on the "I-864" and not I-130? I believe your sister-in-law is a USC. US passport is proof of US citizenship. LPRs cannot get US passports if they are not naturalized.

I am not familiar with CR-1 and the I-864 but you may want to read below [highlight mine].

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1328.html

What does the NVC do with the I-864?

The NVC will review the I-864 for technical completeness and correctness. If the I-864 is not technically correct or complete, the NVC will ask the petitioner/sponsor to correct and complete the I-864 a second time. It will explain what is lacking in the previously submitted I-864.

Oops oops oops, yes of course I meant I-864. Hmm, it sounds maybe like the NVC will be picky to a fault, doesn't it? Maybe I will try whiting out the x by permanent resident and put an x at U.S. Citizen. It will still show her alien reg #, but don't see how that could hurt. Thanks for the link PW, I forgot about reading that probably a year or so ago.

Until now I continue to have problems booking directly with PAL. I took your advice to go through Expedia.com. Though it was $5 more, I was able to go through the transaction. My fiancee will be issued an eticket. Aloha.

Aloha.
