Hi to all

I just got back from vacation in the philippines to visit my fiancee. Well whoever remember my dilemma with my fiancee' passport discripancy with his middle name. Well i went to DFA with them and i spoke to a supervisor about our issues with his middle name not stated on his passport. This is what i found out under the law of the philippines if you are declared as a illegitimate child and the father never signed your BC or have not recognize you as his child. You automatically have to take your mother's last name but his mom put her middle initial in her BC. EXAMPLE: his mother name: ROSE D. MEDINA and his mom put in the BC of her son's name: JOSE D.MEDINA.i guess his mom didnt know what to put at the time so she assume same as hers and if ever they put a middle name on his passport it's gonna be worse cause his mom is gonna look his sister instead of mother. So DFA suggested to go a lawyer to make an AFFIDAVIT OF DISCREPANCY. this will help to explain why his middle name is not stated on the passport. but on his NBI his middle name is stated and also on his CENOMAR...We did that i just dont know if USE honors such AFFIDAVIT..

So please give me some advice here. I really need help here should we just stick with no middle name and explain to a CO why his name should not be on it. We dont want to change his BC because it's gonna look like he just registered late that's a big deal. So what should we do.

I dont want to be put on AR because of his middle name and it was a honest mistake from his mother. We can apply for another NBI and CENOMAR with no middle name.. and my application for K1 has his middle cause of his BC.. im so confused please help. We have our schedule for March.

This is my last post about this matter:

Ok i have a few question i actually filed for my K1 and this is the problem my fiancee' last name is from his mom cause the was never married his biological dad. so his using his mom's last name and the middle name on his BC states only initial (one letter, no description) Example: Name:Jose Middle Name: D. Last Name: Medina . So when i applied for K1 i included his middle name cause it's states on his BC. Now, when he went and get his passport, the lady that works at the passport place stated to him that they cannot include the middle name because that's his mom's middle not his..We are so confused . But it was stated on his BC...So now we have no idea what to do???

So now...

Are we gonna have a problem in the interview? Coz right now his passport doesn't stated anything except his first and last name.then they put - (dashes and leave it black so it's visible. We never thought this is gonna be a big deal but i guess it is...

i think this might be a time to email the embassy and explain exactly as you have here about the whole situation and if they would accept such an affidavit and if not what it is they would accept. but i would wait for more replies from others that have more experience in these matters before doing it. good luck!

Yes Jo ..no fun at all there  ..whew im glad its over!! I drop my papers in the releasing counter at 5:am and they called my name at 2:40 for vaccination and wait another 21/2 hour before they release my paper and give my x-ray result! :

My son had to do another x-ray 5x different position and taht means expose himself to the radiation :( .they do that to make sure what is ''suspicious abnormalities''that they saw before..and Thanks God everything is clear and they even told my son Ok your a ''very healthy boy u can go to USA '':rolleyes: ,W e start Robin's paper at 8 and were done at 5:30!!

Im just glad its over and I thank God for that! Thanks for your prayers Jo.. (F)

Glad to see familiar faces from VJ and WOF members! They are all so nice and sweet!

(F)

It was nice to see you in person T'Luzy and im glad that your son's medical is done now. I also want to say thanks for your post re medical record for any scar. I was able to bring with me my histopathologic report for my thyroidectomy last year and made me finished my medical with no problem last friday. Thanks again and i hope to meet you again soon. Goodluck on your interview.

And to all who will be going to have their medical.. all i can say is - its not first come first serve there, your waiting will depend on the staff who touches your docs and all you could do is to wait when your name gonna be called. I arrived there together with VJ friends at 6:45am and able to finished ahead or almost thesame to some of those who came very early. And one thing also, come back what time they told you to comeback. They told us to comeback at 10am on the 2nd day, we went there at 10am and just a few minutes they gave me my vaccination. And then waited in the ground floor for my name to be called for the result and xray film... it was a long wait but noticed again that its never a first come first serve coz i was called ahead to some of those who came earlier.

So just enjoy the medical thing - its not that hard and scary.

Thanks also to Steve-n-Ana, Thersch and felnfrank for a wonderful time with you. Next time again. It was nice to meet dogmansgirl too and her cutie lil baby.

Yeah, Erichu (Mari) is right. It wasnt that hard and scary as we thought it would be. Just the "waiting of your name" is tiring but having some friends to talk to and help you (tells you youre being called when you didnt hear your name or not paying attention :P ). Im glad I'm 1 step closer to the end of this journey.

Its so nice to meet and spend time with other gurls here who'v been very helpful. To Fel (FelandFrank),Ate Ana (Steve-n-Ana) and Mari (Erichu) :) I had fun girls! Hope to see you soon again :)

and for the rest of you girls waiting for the medical- Chill out, dont worry and hope u meet other girls to, it'll defintly help you :) GOODLUCK!

Hello,

Im going to attend my CFO on wednesday..do i need to take Robin (son) with me?or the mother is good enough to attend

and complete the seminar/session?

Thanks,

(F)

Hi Mareng Luz,

When I went to SMEF at Katipunan to attend the CFO Guidance and Counseling Seminar, I thought my 20 year old daughter has to attend it too. So, I brought her along. But they told me at SMEF that she has to attend a different seminar (PDOS) at the main CFO office at CITIGOLD.

You will attend the guidance and couselling seminar ( http://www.cfo.gov.ph/counseling.htm ) while Robin will have to attend the PDOS (pre-departure orientation seminar; it is a requirement for emigrants 13-19 years old. Even though my daughter is already 20 years old at that time, she has to attend it. See http://www.cfo.gov.ph/pdos.htm ). Yes, both of you will be in different places. You will either take it at SMEF/Good Shepherd Convent or at PRISM while Robin will have to take his at CITIGOLD. Both of these seminars are requirements for CFO registration/stickers apart from the U.S. Visa.

By the way, don't forget to bring your annulment papers and also Gary's divorce papers (apart from the documents you are required to bring), the counselor asks for them. It is part of the counseling. If you don't bring them with you, they will let you come back and bring the papers (and give the necessary counseling) before they give you the Guidance and Counseling certificate.

Good luck and Godspeed,

Jo (F)

the DS-156 is the one done online. the third page contains the barcode. print out two sets. bring those to the interview.

Ok, I am totally confused now. Luz will be paying for the interview later today. She has: 2 copies of the DS156, 2 copies of the DS 157 and 2 copies of a DS 156-K from her packet 4.

Keeping in mind she has her 15 YO son that is going with her, what forms need filled out, how many copies, and do both do exactly the same paperwork?
