Can anyone confirm how long the medical is good for? Lilia got her new papers from the embassy for a new Feb. 26 interview, and there is a new medical schedule too. She just finished her medical at St. Lukes on Jan 15. Surely she doesn't have to go back through all that mess again? Right?

I would call both St. Luke’s and the embassy too confirm that, you may have gotten the standard letter that everyone gets my friend.

Good luck with your new interview date!

They didn't give you a reason why? That is trully sad that they will hold you up for that!

I would think if one got approved, that both would. It is damm silly too hold one and not the other!

I can believe they would do that knowing you are both leaving soon!

I'm not sure but... If a medical is good for a year for AOS purposes, I'm pretty sure a little over a month is still good for her interview.

No I think they just always give a medical appointment date 1 week before the interview as standard procedure. In reality I don't think the medical "appointments" are real appointments at all, they are just giving you a suggested date (it's not like they have your name on a list for that day or anything like that). As we have seen, the applicant can show up at St. Luke's pretty much anytime, as long as it's at least 1 week before the interview.

Since Lilia is already done with her medical, well she's done then, unless of course she was told specifically by someone at St. Luke's to return to St. Luke's for some follow-up on the previous problem. Was she?

thanks, i have wamu and they charge me $3 if i remember correctly every time i use my ATM card to withdraw money from an ATM in philippines. so it's a prepaid ATM card. will be looking more into that
I established a prepaid ATM card at my bank and gave the card to my Fiancee. This way all transfers happen here in the states and all she has to do is go to the ATM. Some banks have prepaid ATM card and others do not. You could also ask for a second ATM card and send it to your wife. If your bank is charging you for every ATM withdrawl fee, I'd change banks. Lots of banks have up to 10 ATM cash withdrawals before charging a fee and my bank reimburses me for up to 10 ATM fees that the other banks charge.
I AGREE!! You totally need to change banks. I use Washington Mutual and they don't charge for anything (free checks, no annual fee, free intl wire transfers to BPI, free bank letter). Well, they do charge for bounced checks. But nobody should be bouncing checks anyway. :innocent:

what do i ask for if i want to get more info on the free intl wire transfer to BPI? i'm paying LBC $15 everytime i send money to my wife

I do a wire transfer from my Wamu checking account to my fiancee's BPI Peso account. They don't charge me for this. It takes a couple of days and whatever the exchange rate is at the time will determine what is deposited into her Peso account. I also will sometimes do a wire transfer into her Ma's USD$ account. There is no conversion until she makes a withdrawal. That way she can see what the rate is before withdrawing and get a better return.

When I use my Wamu Debit/Mastercard in the Phils the bank that owns the ATM will usually charge a fee ($3.50) and then Wamu will charge me a 1% international service charge. So what I prefer to do is wire money to the USD$ account before I go there and then withdraw what I need when I'm there already. This way I don't pay any fees and I can decide when and how much the conversion rate will be.

About my wife's interview yesterday: I thought that I would relay some information to others that are about to do their interview. The Filipino employee asked her for I-134, marriage certificate, NBI clearance and birth certificate. The embassy interviewer asked her only a few questions.

1. Who has been supporting you since your marriage took place and you quit your job. she replied, my husband Glenn. he then asked her for proof of support. She gave him her bank records where it showed electronic funds transfers from my accounts to hers. She also gave him Western Union receipts when I sent money in that fashion.

2. Was your wedding a civil wedding or a church wedding. She replied church wedding. He then asked for pictures. Ha ha! My wife not only had picture that the photographer took, but she had our wedding video! he smiled and said the video was not necessary.

3. He asked her what she planned to do in the USA. Her reply was be with my husband and raise our children.

4. He asked her for my tax returns. (Only 2005)

5. Asked for her my bank letter and bank statements

6. He asked her when she planned to go to the USA. Her reply was, as soon as she gets her VISA

He then told her that everything is in order and looks fine and instructed her to pay the Delbros fee.

She did say that she saw some women crying inside and outside the embassy due to not having all required documents. This is a very happy day for us! Good luck to all!
