Our file was received in Manila on Jan 4, 2007. My Sweetie received a letter from USE on Jan 23. I dont know if this was considered packet 3 or not, but it stated all the documents needed for the interview. It also stated that the interviews were approximately 150 days from the date of receipt in Manila. However we know that the interview times are usually less than that.

Just a personal note about your handle "PatientlyWaiting". Everytime I see that I say to myself, "I'm waiting but I'm certainly not patient about it. " LOL Obviously you have been waiting a very very long time. Good luck for your interview date, it should be for April I think.

You guys need to change banks, mine was free as is my checking, atm withdrawals, funds transfers, checks...etc. I hate banks that use my money and then charge me to use my own money. Ken

Well it appears we have another debate: Is the Bank Letter Required? YES or NO.

I am thinking that it all depends on the financial situation of the USC. I imagine that if USC is making less than $24K a year, he might be required to submit more evidence of financial standing like bank letter. If he is making well above $30K then W2, ITR, pay stubs and employment letter would suffice but that is just my opinion. No one really knows what the consular officers are thinking.

In my case, since I want to minimize my chances of getting an AR, I might as well get that bank letter because if Mr. or Ms. Consul is having bad hair day he/she can ruin my day as well

My fiance paid $30 for his bank letter. Gee, these American banks! $30 for a letter!? My bank here in the Philippines does not charge me a single cent for a simple letter like that.

I AGREE!! You totally need to change banks. I use Washington Mutual and they don't charge for anything (free checks, no annual fee, free intl wire transfers to BPI, free bank letter). Well, they do charge for bounced checks. But nobody should be bouncing checks anyway.

What if the band is an engagement ring?

A wedding ring is great for if you’re married sure, but we both wear a ring for our engagement.

If even read: if you have a ring receipt too bring it with you for proof of engagement. True or untrue!

If the ring doesn't look like a "normal" engagement ring, I suggest don't wear it since we know that this has caused someone grief during medical at St. Lukes. I definitely will not take a risk. An engagement ring usually has a diamond mounted on the center.

If during interview they ask if you have an engagement ring, then say “yes, it’s right here inside my bag but it looks like a wedding band so I did not wear it today so you won’t suspect that I am married.” I’m sure that will make the consul smile. Just be honest and everything will be ok.

Hello everyone, I am here with question again. I tracked our visa status at delbros.com and I feel a little nervous because my sons visa is for delivery tomorrow and mine still says that SHIPMENT PROCESS IN THE EMBASSY. My confusion is that if they grant my son a visa,how come mine isn't out yet when in fact my son is depending on mine. What should I need to expect? I am so worried.

Don't worry, I'm sure your visa will be delivered together. I'm guessing that Delbros just failed to update your record in their database.

just wondering, is ST Lukes doing some prescreening? would think there area would medical. now they can request new Cenomar? wondering if something they do on their own or ask to do by Embassy.

I’m wondering that too. If they are authorized to pre-screen, however, they should only be allowed to suggest to get a Cenomar if they suspect someone of being married and not delay the medical. Questions about eligilibility should not stop them from conducting the medical. They are the hospital, not the US Embassy for heaven’s sake! St. Lukes is over-stepping their bounds.

Thank you, Dean. I'm thinking April too for my interview. Time flew so fast I did not realize I'm waiting almost two years! I thought it was only last year that we started the process. Having a job, having fun with my family and my sweetie's twice a year visits certainly helped in keeping my spirits up. It is much harder for my fiance though as he lives alone with only his loyal doggie, Spirit, keeping him company.

Right now I am still waiting for my sons visa, Freaking delbros updated the wrong tracking number and on line it said that my son has received his visa when in fact what they delivered to me yesterday was my visa... I got the CFO stamp and certificate... ready to fly as soon as im going to be holding my little angels visa

Great news and congrats. That is good nrews for maria and I as I have to leave 9 days after the interview with a holiday on 18 Feb. I am in the Iraq deployment bucket and will use that to pick up our Visa. Lets us know how the POE experience is here in Honolulu. Ken & Maria
