*** I have a wedding band from Paul my fiance (is it ok?)

Question : Do I need to fill-up and show the Visa Application Forms at St. Lukes? Do I need to complete the Documents in the Appointment Packet before they proceed on my Medical check-ups?

A wedding band can get you into trouble as Gary has indicated in his earlier post so keep your ring at home. You are a K1 and should not show up with a wedding band.

You don't need to fill up the DS forms and complete the documents in the appointment packet. Those are for your interview. St. Lukes will provide you with the forms that they would need for the medical. Bring your old x-rays if available.

What if the band is an engagement ring?

A wedding ring is great for if you’re married sure, but we both wear a ring for our engagement.

If even read: if you have a ring receipt too bring it with you for proof of engagement. True or untrue!

It depends on what the ring looks like. If your wearing a diamond ring then you can say it's an engagement ring. Luz has that and it's OK. If you are wearing a gold band then they might look at it and demand you prove your not married. If this happens at St.Lukes a week before your interview then you can count on your interview getting changed. If it happens at the interview then an AR is assured. Luz and I both wear gold bands but they will be no where to be seen at the interview. No need for any unnecessary chances.

So wear no ring too the medical or interview, what is your proof of engagement?

If your on a K-1 an engagement ring is OK at the interview and medical. A wedding ring is asking for trouble.

3. If you wear a wedding ring TAKE IT OFF! There was a lady in front of Luz that had a wedding ring on and they are forcing her to get a new CENOMAR

very good suggestion Gary. why take any unnecessary chances.

Well there would be the engagement ring alone. Then you would have a seperate wedding band. So I'm guessing you wouldn't want to wear a wedding band along with your engagement ring. Correct...??

Wearing a wedding ring to the medical at St. Luke's is a bad idea if you're on a K1 fiance(e) VISA. I think a little common sense could go a long way here. How could you be getting a fiance(e) VISA (which requires you to be single) if you're already married?

My fiancee wore her engagement ring to the medical and it didn't come up.

Well, Jinky attended the CFO seminar yesterday in Cebu and she heard a bunch of the women mentioning VJ and some members names so she asked them if they recognize the names, Steven and Jinky, and they reacted like we're celebrities...hehehe. :P

One of the woman's name was Sherrie (sp) - her fiance lives in the LA of California.

Anyhow, it was comforting for her to meet other VJ members there. :star:

The interviewers were impressed when Jinky told them that our parents met in Ireland over the summer. :star:

Certainly seems to me that they are overstepping their bounds.

Yes they seem to be prescreening, though one would think that is not within their responsibility or authority. They are in a position to delay or stop the interview for things that we could argue are not medical concerns.

Hello,

I thought that St.Lukes job is all related on medical only but they do ask for my marriage contract with annotation and a judge court decision since im done with my annullment. She even told me that she wanna make sure who's fault for that marriage failed .They ask my son birth certificate also.

Since I have a abdomen scar due to hysterectomy and appendectomy surgery, they ask for certication from my OB-GYNE doctor for proof.AND a BIOPSY/PATHLOGY RESULT to let them know its NOT CANCEROUS! (of what they removed from me).

I really dont know whay is that all about but im gladly to comply to anything they ask..dont want to give them reason for the delay/cancel my interview/visa approval!

And yes I saw that they give this girl a hard time because she is wearing an engagement ring and wedding band together on a K-1 petition..she said she explain to them that its only a part of thier being so attached and committed to each other..but still they ask for a new/updated CENOMAR and other paper which i dont much understand coz she is mumbling crying!!

Maybe this is case-to-case basis ,,i really dont know.. :(

Just wanna share my expierence in my medical exam.dont mean to scared you guys/gals!Like i said maybe it is a case-to-case basis.
