Manila Embassy Interview

Regarding everyone buying tickets early. Please help. My lady has been looking at many travel agencies in manila and all of them REFUSE to give her the ticket without the visa in hand. She tried multiples but gets the same issue. One said they 'reserved' it but wouldnt take her money or give confirmation until she shows the passport/visa (which the passport is at the embassy until after the interview/visa).

I have tried to find ways to book online but the only way I found was PAL via LAX and I am in ohio. Anyone have any suggestions or similar issues?

Please help, she just cancelled her reservation to go back to the province because she is so upset and stressed. One of the agencies told her they were 'booked up through march 11' so she has a fear that we will be delayed in our reunion.

Those that waited until after the visa, did you have any issues getting a ticket?

i went to a travel agency before and its true they have somewhat a strict compliance regarding a no visa no issuance of ticket for abroad... you could purchase it for her or for a safer bet, wait for the visa then she could purchese the ticket here.

I understand we can wait...but we are looking at flying her right after that and know there is a lot higher rates when you do not purchase well in advance. We were allowing 2 weeks from the interview (I know its a bit of a gamble, but if the ticket allows for a reschedule I am not concerned).

I could buy it here (but the rate is not cheaper, especially when you add the $90 fuel tax on). Looking for suggestions hoping to find the best resolution.

Cincinatti is the most direct route with a POE of Detroit. Found this using Kayak .com NorthWest flight leaving 19 Feb. there are seats available. $654 leaving on a Friday (16 Feb) and same price for the 19th., Good luck, ken

I just bought my ticket to go over for the interview. PAL PR103 LAX-MNL $591 on Orbitz.

I tried booking on the PAL website (for $580) but it was buggered up last night and would reserve but would take my credit card info.

Hi PW and many others, Been busy with getting the wedding done and everything, didn't have time to post. Jenny is here and we got married on the 13th of January and enjoying the Honeymoon. Thanks for all the help , even tho we still have a lot to do. See you all later.

I agree with PW. When you get pictures, we all want to see.

My beloved will be arriving soon. He will be taking a "stand-by" flight next week hopefully. Once he arrives we will be making our wedding plans together - possibly Easter time.

Hi everyone!!

Just an update to our AOS applications.

as per my timeline i was approved in 17 days after my K1 AOS transfer to CSC, but i received my greencard 27 days after the transfer, but it took me 128 days of approval on processing it.

And just today for my K2 son AOS status, i've received this on my email:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On January 17, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

So as I patterned my timeline to my son K2 AOS, it takes him an approval 75 days after the transfer to CSC, and hopefully we will received his greencard after 1 week today, as likely the timeline i received my greencard thru mail.

I know... it's a little bit far away from topic in here, but i know i could be a help someday to my fellow filipino VJer's specially with those K1/K2 concerns.

I wish more speed approvals of all different types of processing to my fellow Vjer's!!!! GOD BLESS TO ALL!!!!

I found Sundays have the least expensive tickets (Kayak). Friday the 9th of February has a real inexpensive ticket Manila to LAX

The prices i found on Kayak for MNL-CIN one way wer the same price Fri and Mon but more expensive on Sat... guess it depends on the time of day when we check the website. Ken

My appointment was 7:30 and we get out the embassy by 9:30. K applicant with minors will be expedited, as far as I observed they attach and little thingy that says PLEASE EXPIDITE WITH MINOR, it's orange in color.
