Just an FYI from Cathay Pacific's website:

If you are purchasing a ticket for a child under twelve (12) years of age, you may apply for a Reduced Travel Tax (RTT) Certificate from the Department of Tourism, Manila for a discount on travel tax prior to ticketing. Otherwise, full travel tax will be collected and charged to you upon ticket issuance.

ah, a fellow mac user :dance: nice pics, thanks for sharing. "clean comfort room" did it have the 3 necessary things (water, soap, and paper towels)? there's always 1 missing if you're using the public CRs ;) and did you eat some of that "isaw"? wifey loves it but i just can't seem to try it

I purchased online with PAL for 28,326php ($468) 8days (Feb28th). That might be pushing it but we are having the visa delivered locally. I think there is a $25 per ticket charge to change the booking.

it cost me $90 to reschedule my flight from 12/31/06 to 01/02/07 with PAL. though i bought my ticket in california but i would double check that price :)

Thanks for the info. I dont seem to be able to find that reference to $25. maybe I am mistaken. I sent PAL booking an email earlier to verify the re-issuance policy and fee.

Continuing the thread on mailing documents, today I sent Mira my I-134 and other related docs. I sent it USPS Global Express Guaranteed from Tucson to Cabadbaran. Delivery quoted as next Monday 22nd. Weight 12oz, cost $50.55. They have a money back guaranteee if not delivered as promised. Would rather not have to invoke that clause

I called the embassy tonight and told them the story. Lorraine said I might get appointment in May. I believe I had a small stroke when she said that. I was expecting to hear a week or two.

If anyone has experience in this type situation, please contribute.

wow, that doesn't seem fair. seems like they put lilia bak at the bottom of the list with saying u might get a may interview. i hope u can get it worked out 4 a quick interview. well, gud luck fighting the bureaucracy.

Gary, Check the routing and layover times for Continential on that route. If I remember correctly there is al ong layover in Guam, about 6 in Tokyo and another 12 in Honolulu. Continential just cut back on a lot of routes in Asia. Ken

I'm looking at NWA flight 20/2, MNL to LAX (connection in Japan) on Feb 24 or 25. The fare is pretty good but it leaves at 7:50AM. :wacko:

Otherwise Continental has a MNL-LAX flight that stops in Guam and Hawaii but leaves at 11PM.

Actually it was 2:30 in Guam and 3:30 in HI, but the price just went up to $1139 so it's out.

Jazzy i was thinking about what you said regarding the packet may be delivered to me at the end of the month for a March interview. so far looks like many IR/CR's are getting their packets either end of the month or in JunCeL's case beginning of the month. but what i can't seem to figure out is if we are expecting a packet at the end of january for a march interview, why doesn't the NVC know we are scheduled yet? i'm sure it will take weeks to get the packet from new hampshire to california. but if we go by what NVC says about mid-month, it still won't give us the month advance for the interview which ends up as april. but it doesn't make sense since march interviews haven't been given out yet. aaaaah! so confused. sorry, i'm a computer programmer and my mind thinks in patterns. i MUST have a pattern to all this :lol::blink::wacko:

though i have my money on you than the NVC since you're ahead of us in the timeline :thumbs: so i hope and pray to hear something next week or the week after. getting an interview date would make things a little easier. i can't even plan for anything :huh:

Well that was cool! I just decided to give NVC a call to see if they have received my petition yet, and sure enough, they received it on Jan 15th. And they sent out the 3032 and AOS fee bill on the same day. Now that just seems too efficient to me. I'm away from home for another week so I won't get my bill until next week. In the meantime I need to try to get Fely to go to the internet cafe and email the NVC for choice of agent. She hates going to use the computer.

Right now you are in the queue for interview, the NVC seems to be releasing the cr-1 interview dates the last week of each month. Our interview appointment notice (packet) was generated dec. 26, and we recieved dec. 30 for a feb interview date (we lucked out and got the beginning of feb.). With that in mind the last week of this month (Jan) they should generate packets with march interview dates...hopefully yours is among them....and no its not much notice. It will depend on how many applications are in the queue and your position in the queue in relation to the others. Its now the middle of january so k visa intervew dates should be being released this week by manila. It shouldn't take weeks to get the packet from NH to california....i live in NY and it took 4 days from when it was generated....so add 3 days frm there if that...just regular post. Hang in there....i would call the nvc the last couple days of january if you have not got packet to see if interview has been set yet.

Jazzy i was thinking about what you said regarding the packet may be delivered to me at the end of the month for a March interview. so far looks like many IR/CR's are getting their packets either end of the month or in JunCeL's case beginning of the month. but what i can't seem to figure out is if we are expecting a packet at the end of january for a march interview, why doesn't the NVC know we are scheduled yet? i'm sure it will take weeks to get the packet from new hampshire to california. but if we go by what NVC says about mid-month, it still won't give us the month advance for the interview which ends up as april. but it doesn't make sense since march interviews haven't been given out yet. aaaaah! so confused. sorry, i'm a computer programmer and my mind thinks in patterns. i MUST have a pattern to all this :lol::blink::wacko:

though i have my money on you than the NVC since you're ahead of us in the timeline :thumbs: so i hope and pray to hear something next week or the week after. getting an interview date would make things a little easier. i can't even plan for anything :huh:

Regarding everyone buying tickets early. Please help. My lady has been looking at many travel agencies in manila and all of them REFUSE to give her the ticket without the visa in hand. She tried multiples but gets the same issue. One said they 'reserved' it but wouldnt take her money or give confirmation until she shows the passport/visa (which the passport is at the embassy until after the interview/visa).

I have tried to find ways to book online but the only way I found was PAL via LAX and I am in ohio. Anyone have any suggestions or similar issues?

Please help, she just cancelled her reservation to go back to the province because she is so upset and stressed. One of the agencies told her they were 'booked up through march 11' so she has a fear that we will be delayed in our reunion.

Those that waited until after the visa, did you have any issues getting a ticket?
