You did not mention a date, but TravelPH has PAL flights in Feb $815 including taxes to SF. I got my fiancee's one-way through TravelPH to Honolulu for $566. Everyone else was $800+. Ken
PAL is the best way too go for the direct flight. @ 46,746.00 PHP (956.42 USD) one way the cost is not bad for the not needing too change planes.
Holy Cow! That much??? That's about what I paid to fly to the Philippines round trip from LAX on Cathay Pacific back in April. I was counting on finding a one-way ticket for under $600, especially since I'm going to need to buy one for Jinky and her 5 year old son, Job.

Did you look into your fiancee purchasing the ticket over there? I believe you'll save some money that way as well.

There's a bit difference from purchasing abroad than purchasing here in Philippines. Travelling with a minor can save a little bit because of this law called DISCOUNTED TRAVEL TAX FOR MINOR. We haven't purchased any ticket yet. We are making sure to see the visa first before purchasing wwoooohhhhh!!!!! so nervyyyy....

I have not bought my wife's ticket yet, but Northwest Airlines has always been the quickest and least expensive way for me to get to the Philippines. I live in Florida and my wife in CDO. She will fly from Manila to Florida, with her POE being Detroit for $680 (one way). The downside to this, is that Northwest is charging me more than that for a round-trip ticket from Jacksonville, Florida to Detroit. doesn't make sense! But for some reason they charge more for round-trips when you fly and return the same day. If I spent the night in Detroit, the price is half? jeez

Steve, I already purchased the ticket for my fiancee and myself to return 8 days after the interview. We have a delivery address in Manila and I am requesting to pick up the visa because of my military duties.

I searched TravelPH, BestTravelStore, Kayak and eventually PAL.... I got the best prices for roundtrip and one way tickets from Kayak which led me to the PAL site. Try the online booking feature on the PAL site, it beat even my agent's prices here in Hawaii.

We leave Manila 24 Feb and have tickets for $870 and $566 including taxes and fees. Good luck, Ken

For those with February interviews - who has already purchased a plane ticket? Where did you purchase it, what airlines and what was the cost?

...also, how many days after the interview did you book it for?

Thanks! :star:

It is getting down to the wire with my wife's K3 interview. I guess that it is very typical to be nervous and worry. What I have learned of this process, I have learned from reading here on VJ and what my attorney has told me. My wife is in Manila now. Her medical exam is 01/18 and interview 01/25. I would appreciate anyone that has already completed the interview to explain to me basically what happens in the interview. What was asked of you and what documentation they asked you for. It would be of a great help to me to know your experiences. Thank you, Glenn

I have to add that the price of a ticket also depends on available discounted seats and the day of the week. I just checked the 28th Feb on PAL frpm MNL to LAX and the fare is now 35,458php. But if you check the fare for Feb 27th it's 28,240php. The earlier you can book the better deal you can get.
