My finanee called DHL yesterday asking about her packet; they said they needed too look it up. Today she called them back, they said: they have it, they tried too deliver a month ago. She will go pick it up now. We should have the correct date soon.

Oh dear, we may have a delay in our case due to slow paperwork in the Philippines. Fely went to her local NSO office today to pick up a certified marriage certificate, and they told her it hadn't been recorded yet, though our wedding was back in September. She was told to return on February 5th. She had also planned to go to the DFA to get her passport name changed, and get a certified copy to send to me. But that will have to wait also, since she has no marriage cert. Well we'll have to see how fast things go with NVC and if they are ready for our papers before Fely can get them to me.

StarProg: some monetary encouragement should solve your problem our NSO experience took only 3 days once they had the documents (and 200 pesos to speed up the process). as far as DFA - we're in that process too, so she can fill out a W7. that one i think takes about 7 days, but if you can afford the monetary encouragement it can be done quicker. it's kinda sad at times, but also beneficial other times

It's hard for me to deal with these issues when I'm 7000 miles away. It actually took me over a month to get Fely to take the trip to get the certificate (something always came up). But I'll keep the "monetary encouragement" idea in mind if it looks like we need to speed things up. I suspect NVC will actually be slow enough it won't matter anyway. And yes, we're dealing with the W7 form also. I'd like to do my taxes in time to include them with the DS-230. Thanks for the suggestion.

Also , for the interview does he need original items; ie cards he sent me, and vice versa? Do I need to send original paystubs? Thanks!

For the final important stuff (original pay stubs, my BC, tax transcripts, etc. for the aff. of support) I used Fed Ex, it got to her door in 3-days. Expensive as Heck, but it got there. I've also heard DHL works good.

I guess the Phils postal service in the provinces is just more reliable.

DeanIwait, that's not true about FedEx....I work for Fedex here in the states and I pay only $5.83 per package and it is delivered in 3 days....just kidding, they are very expensive but they are the fastest carrier...

When I use USPS it usually gets there. It has been 8-10 days for envelopes and 4-5 weeks for packages. If you can get something into 2 or 3 envelopes instead of a box, you are better off doing it that way because any box (even a small one) will take 4-5 weeks (even if pay extra for USPS so-called Express mail).

If it MUST get there I use FedEx. For an 8 ounce envelope I have paid about $30 from CDO to the US and $40 from the US to CDO. It's expensive but it's fast and it WILL arrive! FedEx was 2 days from CDO to the US and 3 days from the US to CDO.

Yes, take all originals to the interview as they can ask for anything.

Question on the packet4 delivery from the Embassy. Are all packets sent through DHL? Mira is still waiting for her packet, (interview 2-20). We are getting a little concerned. Any suggestions? In Cabadbaran Agusan Del Norte
