Hi everybody!

The NVC finally responded to my email inquiry and I finally got an NVC case#

I have a question though.

Its pretty safe to say the interview is going to take place in april, but when will I actually recieve the interview date?

I would really like to know the interview date, as if I at least have a date to set my heart to, the waiting will be easier.

You can check from time to time you case number in their online website..Here is the link. Just key in your Manila case number. You will have your interview 1-2 months before your NOA2 expired.

Re the 2pcs VISA picture that is listed in the things to bring to the Manila Interview, do they still ask for it since St. Lukes already collected these during the medical? thanks

Sometimes it's better to just bring extra stuff than to try to figure out exactly what you need. My fiancee will start with 8 photos. I'll let you know how many she has left when we're done.

as far as I know that your NOA2 will be valid just valid for 6 months from the day it was approved. I saw that your NOA2 was approved Sep 29, right? I hope your interview will be last last week of February or early March. You can check from time to time the online site where you can check your case number and also try to call the embassy so that they will be aware that your case will be its due already.

Well it means if the ConOff has a bug up his/her butt and your approval is expired they can ship it back to USCIS stating that they don't think you intend to get married anymore and therefore the approval of the petiton is no longer valid. I mean really once the date expires they have the right to just ship it back to USCIS no questions asked. So in effect they have the power to deny you without acutally denying the K-1.

I'm not sure irrelevant would be the correct word. The rub on the CO "may" extend the petition is based upon if both parties are still legally able to marry one another. If that is your case, then no big deal, since I'd imagine the majority of us were beyond the 4-month time frame because of the back-log. But if faxing the letter requesting the extension sets your mind at ease, then I see no harm in doing so.

Well the way I see it is the letter can't hurt you. So I'm going to fax it. I think it would make it harder for the conoff to simply not extend the dates if that letter is in your file. I mean I guess I'm ####### but I think if someone justs assumes they will automatically extend approval dates they may be in for a rude awakening. On the other hand I haven't seen this happen to anyone going through Manila, but why take the chance. For a few minutes work and a few bucks to send a fax I guess it just gives me a little peace of mind.

I think you may be confusing the NOA2 with the K-1 Visa. The NOA2 is valid for 4 months, in Manila you won't have an interview before it expires with their current processing times. Once the K-1 visa is issued it is valid for US entry for 6 months.

ahh..yeah..sorry..it is only 4 months.

and I remembered it right, the lady told me when I was inquiring the status of my case that they will process 1-6 months from the day your case arrived in Manila. Like she told me that our case arrived Oct. 23, 2006 and from that date, the processing will take 1-6 months.

My wife and kid was approved on their interview today, Jan 5, 2006. My wife told me the consul ask only 5 questions, No question ask on my minor son. Heres the question ask:

1. Who is your petitioner?

2. Is June 24 your Date of Marriage?

3. What is the work of your husband?

4. When did your husband finally stay in the US?

5. i forgot the last question.. hehehe.
