I hear ya, waiting sucks but base on your timeline you can have your interview appointment on March, if they got too many files waiting for interview well i say April , you'll be lucky if they can schedule u out the last week of february. For CR/IR call NVC every last week of the month that is where u mostly know the appointment schedule. Goodluck you'll probably know your interview this last week of December if not last week of January.

Just venting a little frustration....I called the NVC today to see if our CR petitions, which were documentarily approved oct 17 had been given an interview yet...and of course nothing yet. However the lady at the NVC said they will have ebruary dates available in after january 15th....this makes no sense...i've already seen the february dates out and that would leave alot of time to plan before the interview...since when did the embassy ever give only one month notice....ok....done venting....its just we would like to plan my trip there for the interview......if there are any CR-1/2 that have interviews scheduled...how much notice did you recieve? On another note....kind of a sad day...its exactly one year ago today we had our k-1 interview...and it was denied for annulment paper reasons....

Our interview is Feb 13 and we're still waiting for the packet (in Cagayan de Oro). We could have a problem because we plan to do the medical the week of Jan 8 and we need the interview letter.

you can have an early medical even without the appointment letter. bring a copy of you I129-F NOA2 (showing your petition has been approved)...call ahead the local numbers @ USE and St. Lukes and to let them know you're picking up a copy of the packet since you haven't received it yet. anyway, you still have about 3 weeks to wait for the packet.

You may also print out your medical and interview schedule from the website and show that to the guard.

For contents of packet 4, you can always download all of them from uling's signature. Receiving packet 4 is not really a big deal since there are other ways to get them.

I have some general questions regarding the forms for packet 4 for anyone, especially those who've already had their interview:

1. Filling out the forms with hand writing vs. typing them - Is this a choice for all the forms? For example, DS-156 says it can filled out online and filed electronically - has anyone done it this way? For consistency, I thought it'd be best for Jinky to fill them out by hand.

2. Affidavit of Support (I-134) - the sample form provided here on VJ shows blanks for, 'amount in savings', 'total property', 'stocks', etc... and only lists annual salary. If my salary is well over the limit requirement, should I leave the other parts blank or should I have them all filled out? Is a bank statement then necessary if I leave out any list of savings?

3. Income tax returns - I have my w-2 for 2005 tax year. If it the entire tax return isn't required, I'd rather just give them my w-2 unless somebody here can tell me if the Manila Embassy looks at anything additional that I would include.

5. On the embassy website, it recommends that you not make any travel plans before the interview, yet I have read where many people buy their plane tickets in advance for the cheaper airfare. Has anyone ever been asked during the interview whether they purchased airfare ahead of time and will that reflect negatively?

I filled all my forms electronically. Neat and convenient, as mychelle said. Also, eliminates the possibility of handwriting being misread by embassy leading to spelling errors. Some people have had visas with misspelled names so one has to watch out for those errors. That could pose problems at POE.

My fiance only listed his annual salary and his house in the I-134. If salary is well over the limit, it might not be a good idea to write down all assets in I-134 for Uncle Sam to see. For bank statement, my fiance sent me one that listed all funds that went in and out of his account for the year covered. His bank account had a balance of a little more than $200 (oh, poor guy) and embassy accepted those.

When I interviewed last year, embassy looked for W2 and ITR.

If need be, someone would always be willing to look after Jinky's stuff and her boy. She will be friends with the other ladies there and before you know it, they are talking like long lost relatives so don't worry too much. There will be lots of helping hands around.

1. Filling out the forms with hand writing vs. typing them - Is this a choice for all the forms? For example, DS-156 says it can filled out online and filed electronically - has anyone done it this way? For consistency, I thought it'd be best for Jinky to fill them out by hand.

I filled all my forms electronically. Neat and convenient, as mychelle said. Also, eliminates the possibility of handwriting being misread by embassy leading to spelling errors. Some people have had visas with misspelled names so one has to watch out for those errors. That could pose problems at POE.

2. Affidavit of Support (I-134) - the sample form provided here on VJ shows blanks for, 'amount in savings', 'total property', 'stocks', etc... and only lists annual salary. If my salary is well over the limit requirement, should I leave the other parts blank or should I have them all filled out? Is a bank statement then necessary if I leave out any list of savings?

My fiance only listed his annual salary and his house in the I-134. If salary is well over the limit, it might not be a good idea to write down all assets in I-134 for Uncle Sam to see. For bank statement, my fiance sent me one that listed all funds that went in and out of his account for the year covered. His bank account had a balance of a little more than $200 (oh, poor guy) and embassy accepted those.

3. Income tax returns - I have my w-2 for 2005 tax year. If it the entire tax return isn't required, I'd rather just give them my w-2 unless somebody here can tell me if the Manila Embassy looks at anything additional that I would include.

When I interviewed last year, embassy looked for W2 and ITR.

4. Regarding Jinky's 5 year old son - has anyone here also had a child go through the medical? Because he is so young I worry about the day long process and how Jinky can tend to his needs when she is also going through examination?

If need be, someone would always be willing to look after Jinky's stuff and her boy. She will be friends with the other ladies there and before you know it, they are talking like long lost relatives so don't worry too much. There will be lots of helping hands around.

We need to talk a lot more about the K2. Like should they both got too the medical at the same time? Or should one go 2 days before?

K1 and K2 have the same medical and interview date.

May I ask if he needed something listing the value of he home? I own my home and I bought it not long ago.

Is anyone allowed too go in with them? like her mom is going with her to help hold her son if she needs to go in alone, because I am not sure if I can be there.

Yeah we understand that he needs too be there for both dates, but i read that some have been going early. We would perfer too do it all in the same day as she will be there.

Never Expected This !

Lilia had her medical two days ago. She had to go back yesterday for her vaccinations.

Lilia is healthy as she can be. She contracted a slight cough when she arrived from Bacolod to Las Pinas last week. Her throat is a little sore and she has some phlegm in her throat. Yesterday I asked her to go to the pharmacy and buy "bactrim" antibiotic to kill the suspected infection.

During the medical, because of her cough, they took additional x-ray view. They also did the same thing for the five girls immediately before and after her in the x-ray line.

Yesterday when she went back for vaccinations, the nurse told her that her Dec 28 interview had been canceled because of the congestion in her chest and that she must come back to St. Luke's on Jan 9, 10 and 11 for tests.

I launched into orbit. We are not talking about someone who is sick. We are talking about a very slight upper respiratory infection. Apparently, they want to be sure she doesn't have TB.

Now my question. Since the nurse canceled our interview, how do we get another one after the three visits ending Jan 11th? Will the nurse who canceled the interview get new one for her? How do I go about getting another interview slot?

I know PANICKED is going through a worse situation than mine. He has to wait about six months for his fiancee to get treated for TB. Anyone else had medical delays and how to cope? It is so hard to get an interview. How do we go about rescheduling after the required medical tests prove she doesn't have TB. This is not even a big UR infection, just a sore throat with slight phlegm and congestion. She has had it less than a week; maybe only 3 days.

Of course, this is Christmas weekend. Tuesday I am sending Lilia to top notch Manila doctor for independent x-rays and aggressive prescription recommendation. That's all I know to do at this point. Please help if you know how to handle this situation.

Wow! Sorry to hear that! It makes me worry about Luz. She gets allergies sometimes and has a cough and sniffles because of it. I wonder if it would be a good idea to send her to her own doctor a week before and get her a TB skin test and then take the results with her. I have already bought tickets, hotel reservations and gotten vacation approved. It would be a real problem if things got delayed.

IS his passort gonna be stuck in that "mystery envelope?" Does that mean we can't travel to vietnam or something before we come back to the US???? any stress relief tips anyone?!!!!!
