I have also seen it suggested, for anyone flying over close to interview time and carrying important documents for the interview, to additionally mail a copy of the documents to your beneficiary, just in case your unable to get there for some reason.

I did mail most of the documents weeks before. I was bring additional supporting documents which could mke a difference.

hopefully all goes well even without it. as long as the basic requirements (listed in the packet) is there with you right now then lets hope for the best!!! Good luck on the interview

a big thanks ... i was able to read the different experiences some made me nervous and tend to freak me out but i know i'll be fine...maybe i'll just think that my husband is waiting for me to be with him and same here ..and so lucky that i was able to came up with almost last phase of the process.

To answer your question, yes, you enter the full NVC assigned case number MNL2006xxxxxx. Mari was checking it every day for a month and it now shows our embassy date and St. Luke's date. She is going to go for the medical exam weeks before the assigned St. Luke's date because they are flexible on that.

Have you seen the PatientlyWaiting list of petitioners in this thread? I hear it's good luck to get your name on that list!

6-8 weeks prior to interview is when embassy starts sending out the packet. Some packets, however, never make it to the mailbox so be prepared and check out embassy website for content of Packet 4 (link is in uling's signature).

TO VJ friends, below is an explanation of how interview is scheduled. This is from embassy website:

All case processing for Manila, including appointment scheduling, is generally done at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the U.S. An applicant’s case number does not determine his or her position in the scheduling queue. Once a case is current, the applicant’s place in the scheduling queue will be determined by the date all the necessary, completed documents are received at NVC and the case becomes “documentarily qualified.”

We believe the waiting time for an appointment date is approximately three (3) to five (5) months from the date the case is “documentarily qualified.” As soon as an appointment date does become available, NVC will forward the case to Embassy Manila. NVC will also send the petitioner and/or the authorized agent/representative an appointment package.

If a case has been current for over five (5) months and there is still no appointment date in the above link, check with NVC to ascertain the status of the petition. While embassy website states that an applicant's case number does not determine position in the schedule queue, this is true only for family-based petitions like F1, F2, etc. wherein a sibling of a US citizen may be assigned a case number (ex. MNL1997123) but definitely, no appointment will be scheduled until year 2017 since there is a wait time of more than 20 years for petitioned siblings. For K and CR-IR cases, however, where visa is always available, the interview is generally scheduled according to case number except for a few who fall through the crack and those who are granted expedited interview.

Birdy and Gobdogman, I believe that your common denominator is that your papers went "missing in action" between USCIS and NVC, is that right? How about you Steven and Jinky, were you stuck a long time at NVC too?

Hi guys! I and a couple of other girls (vj'ers) are going to have our Medical Exam and CFO next month. We are going to attend the seminar first and then the day after that, we will take our medical exam (3 weeks earlier than scheduled).

What do we need to bring with us?

for thos who already done CFO and Medical, which hotel is the best/nearest/not expensive and has dsl connection to stay? I would like to bring my vonage device with me so that i'll still be able to talk to my fiance.

Whats the difference bet PRISM and CFO?

where should we go 1st? what are the requirements?

do we still need to bring photos,forms, emails, chats, etc?

any tips like taking vitamins and supplements?

I have a chest xray that was taken when i had a check up for my cough 6 months ago, should i show it to them?

I have had vaccinations for Hepa B, and cholesterol and sugar counts etc, should i also show these to them?

From everything I have read, you do not need to take the items you mentioned with you nor do you need your medical records. If you have shot records, bring them so they know what shots you already have. Unless you were diagnosed with TB or some other lung desease, no need to bring ur chest X-rays. yes our case actualy was sitting in the mail room at csc for over 1 month before they forwarded it to manila.

I had to keep calling CSC to see what was going on with our petition and that is why you see in the timeline that we are approved on 9/7 but didnt get sent to nvc until 10/10 then sent to manila on 10/17.

Its really aggrivating that there is no superviser or anyone that you can contact directly to find some answers to the problems with these agencys.

Hope they get their act together soon and send us a interview date,even we arent quite ready becuase my girl is about to deliver our baby anytime.

It would just be nice to see some progress though.

We will start the babies citizenship papers and passport as soon as he is born that way we can try to get that interview at the same time as her visa interview.

For what it's worth, the February interviews are now posted online and you never know when they will assign a few more so it makes sense to make a daily check of the link Manila Interview Inquiry

To answer your question, yes, you enter the full NVC assigned case number MNL2006xxxxxx. Mari was checking it every day for a month and it now shows our embassy date and St. Luke's date. She is going to go for the medical exam weeks before the assigned St. Luke's date because they are flexible on that.

Have you seen the PatientlyWaiting list of petitioners in this thread? I hear it's good luck to get your name on that list!

Hey Eric.. i'm happy that you finally have an interview date.. it would have been sweet if you guys will be together in time for valentines .. thanks for the info btw.. i tried typing in my MNL# but it's not getting recognize.. i guess we don't have an interview date yet i'll just keep checking and hopefully i can give my fiancee the good news this week (interview date)..
