We were looking through our personal picture from our wedding and my wife allowed me to share this one... It's one of my favorites because I'm acting silly... We will have our official wedding pictures in about a week or two.

Cheers

First of all, Big Congratulations to everyone who's gotten their interview date! :star:

I'm a little frustrated and confused because the embassy received our NOA2 on Nov. 2nd and our case number is 793xxx, yet Jinky has called the embassy twice and I ended up paying the $18 fee for the 1-888 number after reading that many of you who got your interview date said the website was not updated to reflect the date, only to be told no interview date is available yet! I even asked the person at the embassy, I mentioned that I belong to a support group and several people with higher case numbers than ours have gotten their interview date. She told me they don't go in order by the number, but it depends on a case by case basis. Okay, if it's like that what is the criteria? I thought if all things be fair - they would at least queue is based on when they received our NOA2.

Grrrrrr....I'm frustrated and Jinky is really feeling down. I've tried to lift her spirits and said we can hope and pray to know our interview date before Christmas.

God...this process really can wear down on you. :(

My fiancé failed her medical exam last month, because she was determined to have TB.

When she is cured, healed or whatever and passes the medical exam, what happens next?

I mean, how does she get a new interview date and would she qualify for a "walk-in interview" such as someone that was/is on an Administrative Review, just because the were missing a document or something?

The reason for me asking is that I am wondering if the Embassy may consider her medical exam "mute" as it would be too old if she had to wait another 4 months for an interview date?

Any suggestions or thoughts out there?

Thank you

Hello Everyone, I have a question for some of the people that have been through the interview process or have information regarding this: My wife has medical exam on January 18 and her interview is January 25th. She is from Cagayan de Oro, so its a plane trip there. We are thinking about her just remaining in Manila and having her visa sent to her hotel instead of her flying back to Cagayan de Oro. She would just be bringing all her things when she goes to Manila for the medical exam and staying until she had visa in hand and then on to the USA. Has anyone done this or does anyone have any feedback regarding doing it this way?

I will greatly appreciate your feedback! Thanks!

Glenn, Hotel can get expensive and there is no guarentee she will not go into AR and it take longer than expected to get her Visa. That said, are you prepared for the cost if it takes 2-3 weeks after the interview, for hotel and spending money? I do understand not wanting to make th elong trip back to Cagayan De Oro, but the chance of going into AR and spending 2-3 weeks after the interview alone in a hotel waiting for a Visa, is not somethin I would want to put my Fiancee through. That said, check this web site for hotel prices and stick tot he Malate area as it is coser to the Embassy. PrecisionReservations just put in Manila and the dates you want, when the results come up look to the far right and select "Manila Map" the on the left select Malate. There will be a map with numbers to corresponding Hotels, just click on them for the prices. Good luck, Ken & Maria

If you do chose to go this route and put her in a hotel until the visa is in-hand, check out PhilBill an American who owns a hotel/dorm place in Pasay near the airport. I'm not sure the exact web page, but if you google PhilBill (and Lorna his wife) I'm sure you can find all the info you need. The price is right, and the owner might have some insight into the process she is going through.

Here is a link to bills place, they have some real good rates especially if you plan to stay for a month or longer

We plan on staying there for a month whenever the embassy decides to give us a interview date.

We need to do extra things to get the citizenship and passport for our baby so we will just stay there for a month or longer depends on how long the whole process takes.

Yes, my wife doesnt want to stay in manila any longer than she has to. Maybe she will just fly back to Cagayan de oro on the day after her interview. Her medical exam is on the 18th, but she is flying there on the 16th. We just don't want to take any chance to delay this any longer. Our 1st wedding anniversary is December 29. I guess were just like everyone else, we are ready to be together. Thanks all!

BJZags,

I stayed there when I stopped in Manila to get my affidavit of singleness at the embassy on my way to Cebu to marry my sweety.

While Bill is a nice guy and his rates are very good, the place is not where you would want a single female to stay at.

The rooms are real bad and I know he lines up "girls" for some of the guys who stay there.

I mean I have nothing against Bill or his place but I wouldn't stay there again, let alone put my sweety up there by herself.

Just my opinion..... Mike
