Anybody else get a similiar letter?

We received the fiancée visa petition (I-129F) from the State Department's National Visa Center (NVC) on October 25, 2006. No appointment has been scheduled as yet, but the case is already queued for scheduling of a visa interview appointment. Because of our heavy volume of fiancé(e) visa applications, the waiting time for a visa interview at present is approximately 150 days from receipt of the petition in Manila .

We will inform you of the interview date as soon as it is scheduled. We will mail an appointment packet with information and instructions to apply for a visa about 30 days before the scheduled interview.

A list of immigrant and fiancé(e) visa cases that have been scheduled for an interview is available at our website at http://philippines.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html. You may check the interview date at this Internet address, where appointments scheduled for the current month and the following month are listed according to case numbers. The list is updated in the middle of each month. You need not wait for the hard copy of the appointment letter and can proceed based on the posted appointment time, downloading the application forms from our website, as needed.

If you would like to inquire further about the status of the visa case, you may contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center at telephone 1-909-101-7878. This number is for subscribers of PLDT and Smart telephone touchtone landlines with national and international distance dialing features (NDD or IDD access). Callers in the USA can contact the Call Center at 1-888-877-9888. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Manila time). There is a fee assessed to callers by the Call Center for its services.

Further action on your case awaits assignment of an interview date. Because of our heavy volume of K1 / k3 visa applications, the waiting time for visa interview at present is approximately 150 days from the date we receive the petition in Manila. We will inform youof the interview date as soon as it is scheduled. We will send you an appointment packet with information and instructions to apply for visa about 30 days before the scheduled interview.

Well things are not looking good for interviews scheduled for early next week.

The tremendous storm, Typhoon Durian, seems bent on becoming a cat 5 tomorrow, and will still be cat 4 or 3 as it passes directly over the embassy Saturday or Sunday. The chances of anything moving in Manila on Monday or Tuesday are rather slim. This is much larger than the recent Bagiuo Millenyum.

And I recently went to great pains to get our interview rescheduled for Monday! Not a good omen...

Not a bad idea Rob. We spend so much time to make sure our documentation we are sending our wife's is perfect most of us never think of an NSO issued document getting challenged. I would think to have extra copies at the time of interview will help. The only thing I don't understand is why the embassy would ask my wife to bring another one if they are going to take 4 to 6 weeks to request their own copy from manila cso???

Then again, not much about this whole process makes sense to start with. It is sad that so much fraud puts the legitimate people through this extra waiting. Oh well, a new day and we will make it.

You guys can tell me if you think this will work or not. I am ordering one copy of Lilia's birth certificate online and having it delivered directly to the USE in NSO envelope with our MNL file number on the address. Lilia will order one additional copy (other than the one she currently has) from NSO on NSO paper in unopened NSO envelope. Hopefully, the one mailed from NSO will find its way to our file prior to the interview. We will have one additional copy from NSO in unopened envelope from NSO PLUS the one she already has in her file. I will also attend the interview. These are all the measures I can think of to head off what appears to be almost automatic AR.

Hi cybernutguy,

I wonder why the consul ask your girl to have another copy of her BC from NSO. What was wrong with the BC that she brought during her interview? when did she order a copy of her BC from NSO before interview date? I just wonder if the consul would want the latest date of the requested copy of the BC in security paper from NSO. I also wonder if that's the case with the CENOMAR coz I ordered 2 copies of BC and 1 CENOMAR last August and Im thinking of ordering new copies by January before my interview so I will have the latest copies. Just taking some measures as Robhankins said.

By the way, my BC is also registered late. I was born Dec 1972 but my BC's date of registration which was received by the local civil registrar was Aug 1973. On the other hand, it doesnt have any comment that it was late registered. Honestly, Im getting worried also about my BC. But someone said that it wasnt much a big deal coz my BC was only few months registered late and not years. i just have to bring back up documents like school records and employment ID or any documents that would help proved my identity.

Where can anyone determine what date the BC was actually printed. In her case she's had it for three years, but it could have been printed 3-months ago, or even 3-yrs ago. I've taken a look at the scan of Jenalyn's and I can't see any indication of when it was requested and printed by NSO. The BC isn't like the NBI clearance that is dated and valid for one year.

My fiancee got the same letter through the mail though, i believe. wonder why as the petitioner I did not get an email. wonder if the embassy has sent it to the wrong email address

I as petitioner and Birdy as applicant got emails. She got snail mail today too, so mine is probably forthcoming but 2 weeks away.

Lara, not sure, they never gave my wife a reason.

UPDATE:

My wife returned to the embassy on 29th at 1PM and submitted another copy of her bc at window 17. The filipino pulled her case on the computer and then asked her why she was back. She showed her letter and then produced the nso copy of her bc she had picked up earlier that day from nso in Quezon city. The man then told her your case is approved the document review has been removed by the consul. Go home and wait for delivery of your visa.

My wife was very happy but I am cautious and won't beleive it until she has visa in hand. She is in Makati City with aunt and the man told her 2 days for debros delivery. I will beleive it when she calls me and has visa in hand.

Meanwhile I will be calling embassy on a daily basis when they reopen Monday to check status. I will be relentless until I "see" a result.

Not a bad idea Rob. We spend so much time to make sure our documentation we are sending our wife's is perfect most of us never think of an NSO issued document getting challenged.
