 Congratulations Greg2005 and ckoahou

We are all happy for you both!!!!! Cheers :D

Thanks PW for throwing your two-cents.

Question again: The 1040's I have with me don't have signatures. They are actually backup copies. Do my husband really need to get a copy from IRS?

Thank you so much. Here's my interview Experience.

I woke up late...I got there at 5am and was able to get inside the Embassy premisses. My interview is scheduled at 7am. If you think about it...as long as you get to the embassy before 6 am you won't have to worry if you'll be able to get first in line because the giving out of the numbers are done per scheduled time (doesn't give you the right to procrastinate though). Just make sure you get a seat close to where the DS Forms are submitted. Finally my number flashed and was directed to the window where the Filipino/Filipina Prelimenary Interviewer's at (mine was a Filipina). I gave her my papers and she returned half of it. She only kept the following:

- Affidavit of support

- 2005 ITR & W2

- Employment Certificate

- Photos

- Phone Bills

- e-mails (i forgot to give the snail mails and she returned my chat logs)

She returned my husband's pay stub and bank statements (She just scanned through it). I told her my husband had no ITR for the past 3 years since he was here in the Philippines studying with me. I added that we have a co-sponsor prepared to cover for the ITR. She said my husband's employment certificate is enough already. At this point, I was puzzled because my husband's 2005 ITR is $2k less than the required poverty level since he started work just last October.

I was asked to go for finger scanning and was asked to sit after and wait for my number to flash...this time, that's for the interview with the CO. I was called at Window 30 where the CO is at. While I was there, he didn't look at the e-mails and phone bills...he returned it to me. I asked him if he wanted our Wedding Album since I gave them the index (12"x16"). He said it's ok. He looked through our photos (I had 2 clearbooks - the summary of our 8 year relationship). He went back and forth...maybe looking at the changes of our faces. Then he took a deep breath and said "wow!" then gave me back the photos. He asked me to raise my right hand and swear that whatever's written on the form is true. After that he asked me one question "When did you meet?". After answering the question he typed something on the computer, reached for the striped green and white stub with an "approved" word printed on the stub...signed it and told me "Good luck on your new life in the US"...he then smiled...I was so happy...I didn't know what to do...I asked myself, am I gonna cry or what. I grabbed my stuff and said thank you to the CO like 4 times and even looked back and thanked him again.

God is soooo good! I remembered the story in the bible where 2 blind men asked Jesus to heal them. Jesus then touched their eyes and said "BECOME WHAT YOU BELIVE"...then they were were able to see. Same thing with what we are going through...we just put faith in everything we do...when it's beyond our control already.

Anyways...Good Luck and thank you again!!! :content:

Well we all can smell the happiness here ckoahou :D . Have a safe trip to your new home

I use the program Taxcut so I print out the forms and sign it again with the date I used before. Now that I think about it, maybe there should only be one signed copy in ink and the copies would be copies of the original.

My husband is also using Taxcut. Thanks for the info greg2005. Congratulations again and may you have a wonderful life together.. forever!

That actually made sense. I just read the guidelines for electronic filing and a signature isn't really required except for rejected tax transcripts which should be mailed through snail mail.

Thanks for the info JoseandHelen. That's a relief for me too :D

Go go go Soulseeker and Andrewkonen!!!! Give us a big APPROVED!

On this end, Lye's medical seems to be going well; she's sitting around now waiting for the shots. Me? I'm going bonkers knowing the interview is in a week. That's okay, though: I've told my boss and co-workers not to expect too much out of me until May at the earliest. They seem pretty understanding. ;)

hey y'all

sorry for taking so long to reply, been soooo busy at work (cant complaim, it keeps me from dwelling on the AR)

anyhow, i DID ask why etc, but i didnt ask the consul, i asked the guy who gave me the white sheet abnd pink slip...but he didnt know why and when the review will be completed

at the end of the interview when the consul said "we'd like to do some more processing on your case, wait for your number to flash again and we'll let you know the next step" i took it to mean he just wanted to check something in my papers or whatever, some minor thing

so i thanked him for his time and went back to the waiting area

if i had known it would mean AR i would most definitely have asked him why. unfortunately, i wasnt thinking right and i thought the guy was kind of a jerk, so i just wanted to leave

It's not in the nature of Filipina women to be forceful and demanding but I think Rye that your suggested list of questions in case of AR are good ones.

I posted the reason for my AR in an earlier post. The AR was all my fault.

The consul instructed me what I needed to do but did not tell me how much time I had to complete my papers so I had to ask him. They usually give a one year grace period.
