First of all, I want to congratulate Uling and the rest of the guys who were already APPROVED,I'm very happy for you guys, and for those whose interview is coming up, GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!!!!We can do it!!! .....By the way I hope someone here can answer my question, cuz im really worried that my photos for the visa is a big mistake cuz im not wearing something that has a collar, do we need to wear a clothing that has a collar for the visa photos? Thanks and hope someone will enlighten me so i could take another photos again cuz my blouse has no collar in the picture.

Just take another shot wearing something that has a collar to be sure and you will not worry that your pics will not be accepted...;-)

I know this whole process is very stressful but the type of clothes you wear for photo isnt such a big issue.

This is the info on requirements for passport style photos that are accepted for visa's.

1.The photo should show a clear, front view, full face of the customer. The customer should be in normal street attire, without hat or dark glasses against a plain white or off-white background. The customer should have a natural expression, mouth closed, and eyes open and looking directly ahead. Photos in which the face of the person being photographed is not in focus will not be accepted.

2.The customer''s head, measured from the bottom of the chin to the top of the hair, should be between 1 inch and 1-3/8 inches. The head should be centered in the photo. The head of the person being photographed should not be tilted up, down or to the side. It should cover about 50% of the area of the photo

3.Unless worn daily for religious reasons, all hats or headgear should be removed for the photo. In all cases, no item or attire should cover or otherwise obscure any part of the face

4.Eyeglasses worn on a daily basis can be worn for the photo. However, there should be no reflections from the eyeglasses that obscures the eyes.

Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required.

5.Uniforms should not be worn in photographs except in the case of religious attire that is worn daily. Otherwise, normal street attire should be worn.

6.Can a parent or guardian appear in the photo of a minor child?

No, the minor child must be the only subject in the photo. Nothing used to support the minor child, whether by mechanical or human means, should be in the camera''s frame.

If you have good clear phots already and they are within the last 6 months you really dont need to stress on the clothes your wearing, all the paper work is enough already stress.

Eventually your fiance will receive a letter from the embassy stating that the petition has been received from NVC, on it I believe is the date.

If the beneficiary does not receive a letter from the USE, please call the USE n order to inquire when your physical files were received by them.

Hello Phil-Am family,

I posted this in the other thread, and excuse me for posting it here. However, I've tried searching for an answer for this question and all I saw was an approximate. But here's the situation:

My fiancee will have her interview on Dec 1st (or Nov 29th as it was moved due to holidays) and the original plan is that she'll come here in the US before Christmas. Unfortunately, my father has been really sick that I have to go to the Philippines in a week or so (I was born in the Philippines and naturalized US Citizen). I am the only son and with his condition, I am anticipating of at least a month stay.

Now the question, HOW LONG IS THE K1 VISA VALID? I honestly don't want to postpone the interview for a later date, but Im worried that if I have to stay longer than a month in the Philippines that my fiancee's visa would expire and we would have to redo it over again. For those who were just approved, does it say in your visa how much time are you allowed to enter the US?

Mari called the the embassy and they told her the date received. They also said we will not be receiving a letter of receipt. The next thing we will get is Packet 4 when the interview is scheduled - we're hoping for a February interview. As best as people here have been able to determine, it is your Case Number (MNL2006xxxxxx) that determines the order in which interview slots are assigned not the date received by the USE.

Announcement

The Philippine Government has declared that December 1, 2006 (Friday) will be the official date of its regularly scheduled holiday (Bonifacio Day). The Embassy will follow this declaration and we will be closed for business on this day.

Immigrant visa applicants with interview appointments scheduled for December 1 have all been rescheduled for interviews on November 29, 2006 (Wednesday ).

For additional details, you may contact our Visa Call Center at 1-909-101-7878 (available only within the Philippines through a PLDT or Smart landline with NDD or IDD access). Its hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M., except on Philippine and American holidays.
