My Baby is done with the vaccination... Tomorrow she is headed for PRISM to participate in the Guidance and Counseling Session. It's been a busy week for her, and now we are one more step closer to the big dance. Cheers!!!

When my girl called CFO office to inquire about the seminar, a lady told her that she would have to go all the way to Quezon City to attend the seminar. But according to the web page, it says that PRISM also offers the seminar in Malate at the same times Mon-Fri. Is that correct, and the CFO secretary is dumber then a stump? Also, does anyone know if they require the passport as a peace of ID for the CFO seminar? Because after the medical, the passport will be in transit to the embassy.

Thanks.

unless something has changed since my fiance attended, passport is not required as ID for CFO.

It is a bit confusing. Please see the procedure that I made based from my experience. I hope this helps.

Thanks sillygirl, that helps a lot.

...the web site, it says one of the requirments is a: "Duly completed guidance and counseling form". Is this something completed while at the interview, or must it be completed beforehand?

The beneficiary can obtain and "duly" complete the form upon arrival. That's not a problem... The forms are available on the CFO website but I'm torn between two forms so we completed them both. LOL! They are probably both incorrect or obsolete forms. LOL!

YnaYeBa0808 - FYI - The airlines do not allow handcuffs, whips, chains, shocking device, and certain bondage items on the plane, but you may take the rest. LOL! Have fun!:D:lol:

Just a quick question....must the DS-156 form be filled out online has i have heard?

Just a quick question....must the DS-156 form be filled out online has i have heard?

Absolutely...

This is taken from the USE website...

Starting November 1, 2006, ALL nonimmigrant visa applicants must use the online Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF) or DS-156 Form. The EVAF is free of charge, will speed up the processing of visas, and reduce waiting time. It is also easy to use because it is the same application form that is currently used, except it is online.

Handwritten or typed visa applications will no longer be accepted by the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit in Manila. If applicants do not have an EVAF on the day of their scheduled interview, they will have to reschedule their interview through the Call Center or through the VisaPoint™.

For more information on EVAF, please visit the Nonimmigrant Visa Applications Forms page.

BJZags - I just told my fiancee to look out for Jenalyn. She is not on the internet so she does not know what Jenalyn looks like but hopefully they will meet.

Sillygirl - You rock!!! I love the PRISM information...

Sillygirl,

Ive seen that your POE was Detriot, how was it??...Ill be going though the same Port of Entry..thought you could give me tips or something so I know what to expect..thanks in advance..

Jenn

hi! It was very painless. In fact it was faster than going through our own immigration. LOL They don't ask you to go to a cubicle or office that I read from other posts about their POE.

You just pass through a booth (like a teller's) and you will get your picture and finger print taken there. Oh, and if the immigration personnel forgets to get you sealed envelope, be sure to give it to him. That's what happened to me. He didn't ask for my sealed envelope and when I got through, I was wondering why he didn't get it from me. My fiance thought that it was OK but I insisted that it's supposed to be taken from me so we went back and gave it to him. The immigration guy was a little sheepish that he forgot. LOL

that's what I thought! thank you much!! the 'forgets to get your sealed envelope' thing made me laugh....Ill make sure I wont forget it..LOL

and oh btw, youre doin a great job in maintaining the list!!!

TC,

Jenn

Just another question............. Why is it when i called NVC they always telling me to try calling next week for they hasn't released the December interview date. I'm petitioning my husband for IR1......and it seems there's a few fellow VJ's here got their interview dates for next month already. I thought they supposed to release the Jan. interview dates this month. I called thrice now and I'm getting the same response from them. Does it means its still possible for some of us who are pursuing IR/CR petitions will get a Dec. interview??

Jhen complete the Guidance and Counseling Seminar and received her certificate. Tomorrow she'll be heading back to Cabuyao from Manila. Next stop... the dreaded and highly anticipated visa interview on 14 Nov. YEAH!

BJZags - Jhen did not need a her passport and she didn't have it anyway... SLEC has it. They looked at her NBI clearance and took a copy of her SSS ID along with a copy of her BC. She said the experience there was fun. There is nothing like having to fulfill a requirement but to have fun while doing it is definitely a bonus. Was your fiancee there? Jhen did not remember hearing anyone call your fiancee's first name although she did talk to everyone there.

Cheers!!!

Yeah, she was there. Jen thought it was too crazy. The interviewer was all negative and asking her if she planned to "follow-through" with the marriage once she got to the USA, etc. But at least one more step completed.

What is this PRISM thing? I have looked back and it kind of looks like something started in PM's then moved to the board because it just suddenly came up.

Is that the seminar where they try to scare the beneficiary by saying to look out for spousal abuse, etc? Eg. the one that can only be done in Manila or Cebu?

Or is this something else?

Meh, nothing to see here.

The PRISM thing is reference to the company that provides the Guidence and Counseling sessions required by CFO before a filipina spouse or fiancee can leave the country. PRISM is locate in Malate. Check out the link for details and address. There is another outfit that runs the sessions in Quezon City, and in Cebu.

And yes, there was a component of scare tactics involved when my girl went yesterday.
