Hello everyone. I'm a new member of this wonderful group and I would like to introduce myself and my wife. My name is Michael and i live in Houston, Texas. My wife's name is Jinky and she presently lives in Manila. Jinky is originally from Masbate, but she has lived in Manila for the past five years. Jinky and I were married in Manila on September 8th. We have a condo in the Sunview Palace Tower which is one block off of Roxas Blvd and across from the American Embassy. As we have just recently started our visa journey, I'm sure I will be a constant figure here until the process runs it's course. I have already found a wealth of knowledge here, and I'm really impressed with the generous and sharing attitude of the members. I hope that in the near future, my shared experience may also help those who follow.

As a "newbie" to the K-3 process, I'm sure I will be seeking assistance from the more experienced veteran members here. However, my wife and I would like to offer our assistance to anyone who may need help with all the craziness in Manila. Whether it be a recommendation for lodging, a nice place to dine, directions to and from, or if you would like an escort to St. Luke's or the embassy, we would be happy to help. Jinky knows Manila like the back of her hand and she would be delighted to meet any fiancee' or spouse who is struggling through the visa process. I fly from Houston to Manila for a week or two each month, so...if we can help in any way, please feel free to contact me. YYB - LOL! I actually called SLEC the other day to find out when the medical exam would be delivered to the USE since we are holding to the 7th of Nov medical exam (they will deliver the information on the 9th of Nov). I was just attempting to ease my now troubled and idle mind since Veteran's Day is the 10th of Nov I became concerned... So today I called USE (Lorraine) to inquire if there would be a problem filing the information so that it would be available for the Consular Officer. She emphatically assured me that it would not be a problem.

EVERYONE - Please Note... Do yourselves a favor and take the medical exam at least two weeks before your interview but no more than a month before... In hindsight that's what I should have worked out for and with my Baby.

welcome to the forum MikeT. im sure someone here will take you up o your offer. one piece of advice, be patient. very very patient. good thing that things are flowing much better nowadays, hopefully we will be able to provide assistance to you in whatever way we can, be it filling out forms or numbers to call, who to hound (uling being the expert in this hahaha J/K brother) or simply just moral support.

Yes, in hindsight, I should have had mine like 3rd week of October..

Now I have to deal with my montly period falling within this 1st week of Nov...*sigh* (Please not on my medical exam..pretty please...)

And I thought I've got all the bases covered...

Oh well...

It is very interesting to note that there's at least one holiday per week at the USE lately...Hmmm..Or is this a trend I failed to notice? or acknowledge?

that's what we're considering. my fiance would prefer not to spend 8 to 10 days in Manila. She's coming from Davao. so if she flys back to Davao after the medical, suggested she take it earlier. her sister has a wedding two weeks before the interview, so we are considering her going to the medical 3 weeks before the interview.

Manila is the one stop shop. It will all work out, but for those who have time, please don't wait or get pigeon holed into last minute heroics.

It wouldn't seem as if we had an sort of choice when the medical exam is as it was scheduled for Nov 27th, a week before the interview.

So are we saying that I need to somehow push the medical exam up to the week of 20th-24th because of seemingly random holidays? Do they not give vaccinations the same day of the examination? She will need to get a full course.

What would vaccinations usually cost?

Is the "guidance and counseling session" aka- CFO?

Thanks Roymcn3rd my fiancee Angelmae is in Manila right now and she is already completed the medical exam and taken the CFO forum. It sounds like everything is going well I wish I could be there with her but work doesn't allow and Angelmae's parents are staying with her so they are looking after her. I have them staying using a local rate at the Bayview hotel and its cheaper due to the long period of time I am having them stay there. Based on what they tell me I highly recommend that hotel. If you stay 9 nights you get two of those nights free.

I am glad it seems like everyone is making so much progress it looks like alot of interviews are coming up. Lets hope it works out for all of us. Once again thanks for the advice I have received on this site it seems like sometimes better advice then the lawyer I have hired to help with the paperwork .
