That's a lot they have to read hehe. Doesn't hurt but i just copied snail mail letters and copies of my internet phone bills with her number on it. Just proof you have a ongoing relationship, Engagement ring receipt if you have it. Not really sure they read those anyways. But knock yourself out. If you get our counselor she may read every word Because we didn't have much proof we had our family sign letters saying they were there for our engagement.

The Filipino interviewer as well as the American Consul during my interview didn't ask for proof of continuous relationship like snail mails, chat logs, etc. The filipino interviewer asked for documents to show proof of meeting in person. So, I gave him my folder which contains pics of me and my fiance together most especially our engagement pics. Also in that folder were John's itinerary of travel for his Philippine visit courtesy of his travel agent, his roundtrip plane ticket, my plane tickets, and all other receipts/credit card statements that documented his stay in the Philippines together with me. The Filipino interviewer asked me if he could borrow that folder to be given to the American Consul. But I also have a folder which documented proof of our continuous relationship. It is better to have one ready. You could never tell what they will ask from you. Just be prepared.

Titakey here - Well you know me; can't sit back and do nothing. I got the idea from some other posts to go to USCIS. Logged on and got an InfoPass and got an appointment for the same day! Fairly easy process. Talked to Officer Lane (very nice woman) and explained my whole situation. She told me that "there should be no reason that Manila (USE) isn't telling us what the problem is." Her advice: 1)Contact my Congressperson (I've already done that), but she said they will produce the best and fastest results. 2)Write a letter to USE and ask for response about visa; be specific; if they need more info for them to make their decision tell them that you can provide that. 3)Write a letter to NVC & say the same thing.

She told me to be relentless! To stay positive and not to give up!

Good news that I really needed to hear!

After lunch I went back to my Congressman's office and talked with his representative.

It hasn't been 2 wks yet and they have not heard a reply back from the Consular Generals office at USE.

We can't really do anything until they reply. But once they do the Congressman's office will help me with whatever the outcome is. (preparing additional letters, etc.)

So now it's back to waiting.

We are praying that he will be here by Christmas.

I cancelled my wedding and honeymoon plans

but Officer Lane told me that things could move quickly and not to give up hope

that he could be here by Thanksgiving (& our original 11/24 wedding date)!

We just continue to pray for God's grace and timing

Wind - I encourage you to go back to your Congressperson's office. I went in with a very clear letter of our situation. The office is close to me and I just keep going back - so they know who I am and keep my situation if the front of their mind.

We just found out our cr-1/cr-2 cases were complete on October 17th....waiting to hear about interview date....PW please update your list......anyone know approximately how long it takes the nvc to asign an interview date for cr-1?

Anyone have interview date and have to register birth abroad at same time before? I am going to try and schedule both interviews together so we can save from making too many trips to manila. Anyone with info on the ins and outs of doing this please all help would be appreciated. I plan to stay in manila for 1 month and try to bring my fiancee and my baby boy home with me.

It will be hard to plan on having the interview and registering the birth at the same time since there are at least four factors you have to consider: (1) the date your son decides to make an appearance, (2) how soon your wife is able to recover from childbirth, (3) the length of time the Philippine government takes to register the birth of your son up to the NSO level (can take a few weeks), and (4) when the interview date is. Too many factors that is just beyond your control.

Better to focus on your wife's assigned interview date and to not miss it. If it happens that you are able to register your son at the same time, good for you, if not then just register the baby later.

As for me and my fiance, we sent petition no. 2 on Aug. 22 and our NOA1 is Aug. 31. Waiting for NOA2 now. Gee, wind! Me, you and jazzy have been in this process for almost two years now but we are still here fighting it out.

Jazzy, based on the timelines, it is taking an average of 5 months to set interview date for CR-IR.

Updating timeline of tamara and Gobdogman and to welcome Burrito to the thread. And a special "welcome back" to the list, Jazzy. I expect to welcome myself back to this thread in 2-3 weeks once I receive our NOA2 (or am I being overly optimistic, seeing that CSC is very slow).

Trust me i am listening to your advice, trying to find a way out of this mess. I wonder if a fax would work also because a letter takes at least a week just to get to the Philippines. I also feel like your Congressman's seems to respond better. They would really never even hear my case. Also i am going to call the Embassy again tonight it's been about 10 days. Then if not i will send and fax and write a letter to the USE. But i dunno how you make them listen when the Congressman's office says they can't do anything, there is no time period and you could wait a year.

Tired of being disappointed tho everytime they won't help, but we must go on and fight i guess. I wish i had Uling's skill at being forceful
