Glad it worked out for you tho. Wish i could go there hehe.

Well, it hasn't all worked out yet. We are still in the waiting mode too.

Is the birth certificate your only issue? I can't believe that it takes so long.

Bureaucracy can't be the only fumble - can it? I would suggest you also contact your Senators.

If we are law abiding, tax paying citizens and are playing the game and following the system, why

can't our visas be approved?

The bad apples that don't follow the law get the attention and continue to stay illegially too!

What does that say about our democracy? Why can't we get some attention too?

Don't settle for no!

I know, I've cried my eyes out day after day. But then I get mad and make up my mind to do something positive.

Just keep chipping away.

Is your fiance able to stay positive? How often do you see each other?

I would like to give a reminder of the importance to have your contact information updated with the embassy. The embassy really messed up Dhonn's address and thus DHL could not find her house. Thankfully, we updated the embassy awhile ago with Dhonn's new # and they were able to txt her.

i learn something here thanks for the great post here!

Please excuse me if I am posting my questions in the wrong area/format. Im curious about picking up the visa at the USE Manila after approval. i see that a few posts show picking it up 2 days after approval but the embassy info seems to suggest that it takes a week. Can anyone shed some light on this ? i sure would like to bring my fiance home after we attend the interview. I also have a crazy question. Why cant you get married at the embassy ? It is U.S. territory.

Jenalyn receive her packet on Friday afternoon. That was really quick, considering it was Wednesday that the posting was made on the web page. I suppose metro-manila is much quicker than other places in Phil.

It appears as thought the Manila Embassy mails Packet 4 subsequent to the interview dates being assigned (up until then we are in suspense for a month or two not leaving much time for them to procrastinate on getting us packet 4 out). LOL!!! :D

I feel the same way about it taking so long when Illegal aliens can get all kinds of government help. I dunno if it's the BC or not they won't tell us. PW put that on there because i thought maybe it was but i dunno, they won't tell us what the problems is, just that they sent it to the Philippines government to verify documents.(even tho they told her all the documents were ok at the interview) I understand that the Embassy and the Congressman's office get a lot of requests and cases but they still don't really care. The responses aren't that by law they can't help, they just say they won't or it doesn't do any good. Pretty frustrating.

She is doing ok but the longer it takes the harder it gets, i haven't seen her since May 2005 :( Long time no see. Just not able to go with work, was saving vacation for the honeymoon but i don't know now if we will have one this year. She has cried some but she is doing pretty good, makes her sad everytime there is no news tho. ;)

That's a cool ticker Cybernutguy.

Luz and I stayed at the Lotus Garden on my first trip there. It's OK and within a 10 minute walk to the embassy. You might also check out the Best Western Hotel La Corona hotel that is close also. $60/night and I like it much better.

I read recommendations on Bayview since it's across from the Manila Embassy, and I have also read that Best Western is pretty cool as well. Cheers!!!
