I hope you'll get your packets soon.

Question again. How many copies of Marriage Certificate do I need to bring on the interview?

Rebel, when you got your medical, did you see some ladies of K3 who were asked for a marriage certificate? Thanks thanks.

For the all fiance out there  whenever your fiancee got the MMR vaccine from their medical, shouldnt be gettin pregnant after 1-3 months, bcos surely it gonna have worst side effect for the baby. So tight ur belt hehehehe,:devil:

:lol::lol::lol:

RH, after reading this one, I laughed so hard I squirted coffee out my nose. Thank you. ;):P

It's definitely a more polite way of saying: tie a knot in it! Hee hee. Of course, why they don't offer the medical sooner because of it is beyond me. I mean, really: it's a marriage-based visa, and you have to get married within 90 days of arrival after waiting forever to be together. <shaking head> Soooo romantic on the wedding nite, eh?

Let's hear it for the sadists in the DoS!!

has anyone gotten there packets for april yet?? they mailed it on the 13th, but we still havent gotten it. when i call the embassy or the state dept. they still have her old address. (we've sent 14 faxs of the new address) yove has gone to her old address every day to check if its come, but still hasnt arrive

I wouldn't get too excited about it yet, Dano--Lye just got hers two days ago, and it was supposedly mailed on Jan 26th...and she lives in Paranaque.

Hope you get it soon, though! :D

ya but the weird thing is we've sent over 14 faxs (over 10 week period) called several times and they dont seem to be able to correct her address. plus she live less then 15 minutes from the embassy i think its a bit weird that mail takes 10+ days to be delievered in the same town. i know yove gets her bills on time so im sure the mail system cant be that much worse then the U.S. mail

Mine took 23 days and she lives like 15-20 km away in manila/.

I've wondered the same thing myself.. I've been trying since December to get my address changed with those cowboys and it still hasn't happened, and the DoS refuses to do it. As far as mailing goes, it's beyond me. <shrug>

Of course it may not be the postal system's fault: Lye sent me a Valentine's card normal post way after the embassy mailing, and it arrived here a day after she received her paperwork. With Manila's track record, they probably didn't mail the things out when they say they did.

That's probably closer to the truth..they just didn't send it out. My woman sent me a Christmas card, it took 11 days to get here in the U.S.A. I think they set it up..here mail room guys..tyhis is ready..and after they play office golf or warehouse football they decide to go ahead and send it.

Hi Wendy,

You mean in medical exams?? no u dont need to bring it, but you should bring it on the day of your interview and bring the original and a xerox copy of it, marriage certificate which is in NSO paper with both of you had scanned pictures in it. Its adds as proof but if they accept xerox copy then give that one, and showed the original when been asked. But i doubt it, maybe try to get NSO marriage certificate 2 original copies or more for your future needs.

Does anyone know for sure one way or the other if you need to leave and "original" certified copy of your birth certificate at time of Manila Interview? As I have been reading the "asawa" diaries I dont hear any mention about getting the original back? We thought we could give them a 'xerox' copy and show them original if they ask.

Also, does anyone know if its "possible" to pick up the passport and visa the the embassy? Lorna does not have what would be considered a 'deliverable' address in Manila.

Thanks Robert and Lorna

I specifically asked the CO if we could exchange a copy for the original at the end of the interview. He said they needed the original certified copy ... you do not get it back ... it's a good idea to get 2 so you'll still have 1.

You can't pick up the visa at the embassy.

Is there an alternative address? A relative? Place of work? We had Marlene's delivered to her work. You can put whatever address you want on the DELBROS delivery form ... it doesn't have to match anything on your application

Yeah J&M is rght, all originals are to be taken, morely BC, NBI, MC thats their main requirements, the supporting documents like evidences ... i for myself i just make recopies of my fiance tax returns and other financial documents but ill bringing the original copies on my interview, other evidence like meeting and engagement like phonebills, emails, pictures you need to give originals but at the end of interview it will give back to u.So better get another original copies of Birth & Marriage certs. for ur future use whenever you were at the US already.

About mailing address, granted for a visa should take 4-14 days ... dats 2 weeks just give time for that, use the address wherever you stay from the day of ur interview. Or give address of ur familr or friends, and whenever you received the text from delbros that they sending the visa, u should be there in time for u to received it.

Note: more easy for us to give adress just in Metro manila area since some here went to manila just for the interview better wait & stay in manila for awhile (if u give address of ur friends or relatives in manila) until the release of the visa.

Yes, thanks for that input Rebel, Lorna is going to use her brothers employers business address for delivery.

So just to summarize in a nutshell: All birth, death, marriage and divorce documents need to be certified/notarized and probably be good idea to have three each for the Filipina. The reason being they will keep one at interview, one for AOS application and one for personal records. We are so glad about this discussion cause we only had one she was getting ready to come to USA without the documents she needed for AOS.

Just a note: I was reading the I 134 towards the bottom where it says "I derive annual income of (if self-employed, I have attached a copy of my last income tax return or report of comercial rating concern which 'I certify to be true and correctto the best of my knowledge and belief". Thank you

So it does seem that the I 134 which is 'notarized' has a language that does certify contents of the income tax return to be a correct that is witnessed by a notary.

Maybe not the right forum for this but this is for the Philippines. I hope you guys have been keeping up on the "State of Emergency" in the Philippines. Pretty sad stuff happening and I feel bad for the citizen that have to go thru this. Of course i'm concerned about my fiancee too B) I fear if it gets much worse the effect on the visa process and the flow of government agencies, Manila seems to be a mess and i'm am actually thankful that my Fiancee isn't there this weekend for what would have been our interview date. I guess God is in control after all. :D

Anyways, not trying to be depressing but i thought people should know what's going on in Manila if they haven't heard already. The control the President has on the country now would be a scary thing for me if that happened in the U.S. Reminds me of the Marcos dictatorship. I hope all you ladies in the Philippines keep safe and hope it doesn't effect your visa process. Here is a few links you want to read the latest: http://news.inq7.net/index/index.php

Goldwing777, I agree with you, that the I-134 document includes the tax returns as attachments, and therefore becomes "notarized" too.

But just to be safe, I made a separate document stating that "the W2 & tax returns are photocopies of the true original and that the contents are true and correct," and had this sheet notarized.

My spouse is scheduled for interview this March.

Hi everybody,

I'm a little late to the discussion but I just wanted to chime in and give all that are waiting a little encouragement. We finally received notice of our K-1 interview date (Mar 22, 2006). There's no less than fifty-eight K-1 and K-3 interviews scheduled for that day. She never received a packet 3 and I'm still not sure what's supposed to be in that. The letter in the packet 4 was dated Jan 26 but it took about 3 weeks for my fiancee Dez to receive it. I kind of wish I had done more research on the requirements for the interview but I didn't think the interview was going to come this soon. I've been pretty stressed out and in the dark this whole time and we have a little 7 month old baby and her first son to take care of too so I've been worried almost to the point of insanity everyday. Thank goodness baby already has US citizenship and an SSN. His passport has his 1 month old baby picture it, how cute. :D

Just a word of advice: get your required documents as soon as possible, don't wait. Dez worked for 2 years in UAE which is where we met. She needs to get a police certificate from UAE but the information on how to do this is scarce. The UAE embassy doesn't readily facilitate obtaining police certificates from outside of the country, but I've read that this is possible. So now I'm paying to send her back to Abu Dhabi to get one in person. As you might guess, it's not easy for Filipinos to get tourist visas to UAE! On top of that her father sadly passed away last week and I'm sending her home for the funeral. So she's got to fly home, then fly to UAE, make it back for the medical and the embassy interview, all in less than one month. And there's no guarantee that the AD police can provide this certificate in the time she will be there. If you think you've got problems, just remember me, and stay on the path you've chosen.

Good luck and cheers!

JL
