When you go in for the interview I know that Luz has to have proof of her annullment. She has the NCO marriage contract with the annotations. Will she need to bring anything else? What do they usually ask for?

I submitted CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of following to prove annulment:

1) Decision

2) Certificate of Finality

3) Certifificate of Registration

4) Original annotated marriage contract issued by NSO

Guys, the embassy will be closed on October 24 as the Philippine govt. has declared it a holiday in observance of Ramadan. So save your $$$ and don't call the embassy next Tuesday.

I want my fiance to get a copy of the medical exam and vaccination report. Will there be an issue requesting a copy from St. Lukes? Does anyone know or have experience with this...??? Thanks in advance. Cheers!

She will get a copy of the vaccination report and it is adviced that she photocopy it. As for the copy of her medical exam, I don't think that is possible unless you ask the USE.

I asked the releasing nurse if everything was OK with my medical exam and all she told me was they will send it to the USE and I will know on my interview if there are any problems.

Guess there was nothing wrong with my medical, good thing psychiatric exam wasn't required, or I might have been in big trouble. I was really going crazy then!

Dear All,

During the interview, I brought all the copies and originals of documents relative to my annulment:

1. Court Decision - the filipino consul at the pre-interview booth asked for the original and spent time (10 minutes) reading the decision and got a copy

2. Entry of Judgment from the Court - he did not ask for it; when i showed it to him; he said he doesn't need it

3. NSO Authenticated Marriage Certificate with Annotation (Annulled Remarks) - he asked for the original

4. Certification of Registration at the Local Civil Registrar - he did not ask for it; when I showed it to him, he again said, he doesn't need it

5. Annotated Marriage Certificate (Annulled Remarks) from the Local Civil Registrar - he did not ask for it; when I showed it to him, he again said he doesn't need it

6. DECREE OF DECLARATION OF NULLITY OF MARRIAGE - HE ASKED FOR IT; HE SAID THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENT; IF YOU HAVE ALL OF THE ABOVE, BUT WITHOUT THIS, YOU CAN'T BE GIVEN A VISA. HE ASKED FOR THE ORIGINAL AND LOOKED FOR THE SEAL; THEN HE ASKED FOR A PHOTOCOPY.

K1 and spouses of USC will undergo the the Guidance and Counseling Seminar either at SMEF-COW at Good Shepherd Convent in Katipunan or at PRISM in Taft Ave. K2 & K4 who need to undergo pre-departure registration and orientation seminar (PDOS)will have it at CFO-CITIGOLD in Paco.

Those who are 12 years old and below are exempt from attending the PDOS. They must, however, be registered, even if by proxy. Children of emigrants, aged 13 to 19, are required to attend the Peer Counseling Program to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

K1 and Spouses who don't have their passports and visas yet can undergo the Guidance and Counseling seminar if their required documents (NSO/SECPA birth certificate is an important document that they want to see among others) for the seminar are complete and will be given the certificate after the seminar. However, they have to go back and bring their passport with visa for the CFO sticker that will be attached to their passport and visa (Philippine Immigration will check this before they allow you to leave the Philippines; if you don't have this, they will hold you at the airport)

Requirement for PDOS for K2/K4, will be the passport and the visa. After the seminar, they will also give the certificate for the PDOS.

After receipt of the passport and visa, the Filipino spouses and other partners of US nationals will have to register with CFO prior to their departure. Registration is done either in CFO Manila or Cebu Extension Office, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An emigrant registration sticker is affixed to the emigrants passport as proof of registration

Registration Requirements for Filipino Spouses and Other Partners of US Nationals

-Original Passport;

-Original and photocopy of visa;

-Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound (except for K-visa holder)

-Original CFO guidance and counseling certificate;

-Duly completed emigrant registration form; and

-Payment of the authorized registration fee.

Don't forget to register your accompanying children with CFO.

You can get that from the Local Civil Registrar of the city/town where your court is located. My annulment case was heard by a court in Paranaque City so my Certificate of Registration was issued by the LCR of Paranaque.

Do you have an annotated marriage contract issued by NSO already? If you have that, then I assume that you have completed the documentary requirements otherwise, NSO would not have annotated your MC. Your local LCR may have used a different title for the Certificate of Registration. What are the documents that you have there with you right now that pertains to your annulment? Let's see if there is something similar to the Certificate of Registration.

6. DECREE OF DECLARATION OF NULLITY OF MARRIAGE -

I am realizing now that the courts use different titles or names for court papers.

I was not issued this Decree of Declaration of Nullity of Marriage but I was issued a Certificate of Finality, the wordings of which are similar to what Jo was issued.

Same thing with me Jo, the American consul that interviewed me spent about 10 minutes reading the court decision regarding my annulment. It was really embarrassing because all the details of my married life were in that document and all I could do was to sit there quietly and turn red all over

To all folks who may be interested.... here is my long overdue interview experience. The process is not as confusing as that of the medical but it is a lot more nerve wracking.

I made a layout (again) of the embassy (i hope i don't get in trouble for this ) so that you'd at least have an idea as to what the room looks like before you get there.

This is based on MY interview experience. You may notice that my CENOMAR is not included in the documents that were asked from me but, more often than not, they will look for it. There may be other documents that will be asked from you so you better bring all the required documents and all the necessary supporting docs (for late registration of birth, etc.)!

Well i called the Embassy again today.....same news, it's been over 6 weeks. They said they tried to follow up last week to see why it was taking this long but the lady today wouldn't do anything when i asked them to call the government and see why it hasn't been done yet. She told me to call back next week like i'm just waiting on a package or something I am going to try and goto my Congressman's office tomorrow and try to get some help.

Anyone who has gone that route. What should i bring to the office to ask for help? Like NOA2 or what?

Ughhh Wind, sorry to hear about this unreasonable delay. I thought I was going to read a happy post. If you are going to your congressman's office, make sure you have a written account of the problem and bring all K1 documents that you have. I think the most important reference right now is the Manila case number since the inquiry will be made at embassy level. That will be the reference point. Make sure you know important info like her interview date and the dates you called the embassy to make inquiries, etc. to let them know that you have been following up to no avail. Send PM to Danoco as he has dealt with congressmen before. He should be able to give you tips.

Updating timelines of those in red. Jo&John, once your passport is delivered, please don't forget to let us know delivery date and place.

As you know my first petition fell through because of my two marriages (to the same person) and two annulments and now I'm on petition no. 2. Two of everything for me! I haven't received NOA2 for petition no. 2 so I'm not in the list yet. We're hoping to get NOA2 by end of October or early November.

I'm middle-aged already ~ turning 44 this year so you're hunch was correct, I'm an old hag. Filipina women transform from a young maiden during the day and turn into an old witch at night. Better switch on your night lamp to make sure Yove does not transform at night. Hala lagot, asawang aswang!!!

The posts concerning papers necessary for proof of annnulment have us a little worried.

Our situation concerns - Death Presumption, which may required different papers. We have

1) Court Decision - photocopy with dry seal & documentary stamp

2) Certificate of Finality - original but no seal and no documentary stamp

3) Original annotated marriage contract issued by NSO - certified to be a true copy

Will these papers do?
