Hi Adiiann..you are not alone..

Like you, I felt devastated when they told me that I had to do the sputum test for 3 days..I didnt know what was wrong (except I had a cold when i had my cxray..lesson learned: Go to the medical completely healthy). I had my xray two weeks before my medical and everything was normal..so I was surprised when they told me to do the sputum test. They said they saw something "suspicious" on my lower left lung..When the doctor showed my cxray on my pulmonary evalutaion, I could not even believe that they saw something irregular with it..It looked (to me) that my lungs were normal, she just pointed out some whitish thing on my lung, she said it might be some phlegm or lung infection. When I asked her if it was a scar, she said "No..its not a scar but we have to rule out TB to be sure".. its their protocol to do so. She gave me a prescription for some antibiotics that I have to take for 7 days (Clarithromycin). And have to wait for 2 months for my culture results.

Waiting just sucks (as i am a very impatient person..hehe). I hope all goes well for us..I know this is just a trial and would make us a better and stronger person. Let's keep praying..:)

Yeah! I was told that way too. The girl (she is nice to me) in the 4th floor who gave me schedule for sputum test explained to me that the findings are okay, and it's just that they saw a small scar in my right lung. So, I still need to undergo sputum test and need to culture it, seems like a protocol. I don't have any historical lung problem but I have occasional asthma when I was young. But, because I grew up healthy, it never been trigger, only when I have flu, but it's so seldom. My fiance's mom told me that asthma can scar the lungs, I wonder if it caused the scar.

Thank you so much for all the advice and encouragement. I am looking at the positive side of what happen to me. I am still in crutches because I was only advice to step using my toes. Next Saturday, I might be advice to step the whole foot but still in crutches. So, I am thinking that what happen to my medical exam will just help my foot to be really in good condition.

Yeah. I keep praying.

To all of us that undergo this thing, May the Holy Spirit touch our soul to be strong, and become patient enough. I know God is always with us.

I'm so sorry for being mushy. I am just trying to overcome the depression, and missing my fiance. :crying: (Sheesh! Gustong-gusto ko na siyang i-hug, tagal na naming di nagkikita)

The best of luck with your culture...stay strong...the time will pass before you know it...and please take good care of your foot (broke my ankle and had a cast on for a while...then a "moon boot" after the cast).

Thank you so much.

They just saw a small scar in my right lung. I'm going to undergo test next week. Yeah, I am thinking of getting cxray in other hospital. Just to be sure.

I did the same when i found out that i needed to undergo a sputum culture tests,i went to have a x-ray to the hospital where my cousin works,i was relieved when i got a negative result, but then, the 2mos waiting made me paranoid,it came to a point that i always jumped whenever i heard my phone ringing,if it was an unknown number,i have thought of not answering it :D . you'll be ok.i know how hard it is to wait but everything happens for a reason.i'll be with you in prayers.

Good luck and wish you all the best

God bless

Thanks! My foot is getting better now. I'm back to work. My doctor might advice me to get rid of the crutches in some few weeks. I just think that the waiting time would be enough time to make myself more mobilize.

Thank you so much.

I did my medical exam today in St. Lukes. I was asked to undergo sputum test due to the small scar saw in my cxray. It really made me feel crying because I never expect to have it. I recently have check-up and I was told I am healthy. I asked the staff there how bad it is, she said everything is fine except that they saw scar in my lungs. So, I still need to have the sputum test.

Even though, I am not in hurry to leave because I still need my foot to be heal, I still feel bad about it. Anyway, I was assured I will not have problem in interview because they'll be the one to have re-schedule it. So, next week starting Monday until Thursday, I am going back to the St. Lukes for the test. Then, the result would be in first week of May.

So, wanna cry....

sorry about that....I know you will be fine....St.Luke's one of the best hospitals in the Philippines and I am pretty much sure they will do everything to help you...Hang in there!Have faith! You will be healed....

"Being parents has brought us to our knees in gratitude. We are humbled like never before. We are filled with exhilaration so awesome that we wanted to shout our joy in giant swooping phrases. We love our little man so much. It's a beautiful thing. Truly, babies are God's proof that the best things do come in small packages!!!"
