Approved, now what?

Hey,

I was surprised when I got my mail the other week, and found that I got approved for both my I-130 application and my 129F application, both on Feb. 12. 2009, although the I130 was sent like a week later, but had the same approval date. Then the other day, I got another mail from the NVC, stating that they received my approved 129F petition, and that, they plan to send within a week my petition of the 129F to the country where my spouse lives, and I was assigned a case number.

Now here is my question. I would like to pursue the I130 Visa, so should I have my spouse, just ignore whatever packet she receives dealing with the 129F, and wait until she gets the I130 packet? Another question I have, is should I fill out the I-869 or the Affadit of Support thing from now, and do it here in the states, or wait until the overseas country requests it?

A final question, does anybody know how much longer there is until, I can bring my wife here to the states? I know there is no exact answer, but have I gone through the hard part of this Visa journey? Like is it another few months or more like 6 months more, or what?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just excited that I've been getting different letters from the NVC, and from what I've been reading, it seems like this is the place where things get bogged down, but as of now, for me they seem to be moving at good pace.

Congratulations!! The choice is on which one visa to follow k-3 vs CR-1. Personally if you can, follow the CR-1, since its cheaper in the end, and you get your SO gets the greencard quicker. Read through the K-3 guide in the guides section, and the LingChe shortcuts to NVC in the VJ Wiki. These two documents will outline everything you need to do for the respective visa.

Thanks Aman and Queuedup for the info, I wasn't aware of the VJWiki thing. I want to pursue the I130 for the reasons mentioned, hopefully it won't take much longer then the K3. Thanks again.
