I can't believe it. I had nearly lost hope and it was sent yesterday and I got the email today. I have laugh-cried for the last hour and now I just don't know what to say.

I had read so much about what the next steps are but have forgotten everything. Please help!

Congratulations. Wait for NVC to assign your case a number. Call NVC in couple of days. Get ready with DS-3032, I-864 (employment letter, bank statements, tax, etc); DS-230 with original passport and police clearance certificates, birth certificate, etc.

Best piece of advice is to have everything ready and you will fly through NVC. You have to stay active, check your case daily, and call the NVC often. Good luck!

congrats!!! if you have NVC case number the beneficiary can EMAIL now the choice of agent (DS-3032) just follow james shortcut ...

I suggest you call NVC first if your Choice of agent has been genrated and then Email it to NVC.....

Canadian wife, I really had lost hope. I sttopped checking everything cos' I was so deflated. I had no touched until 23rd of Feb or so and just thought it really was the most pointless exercise expending the energy and emotion and then I came home from a long and painful meeting yesterday night, checked my email and there it was.

Oh my, it's all so confusing or may be I'm too excited.

After the NVC generates the case number, do I email my DS - 3032? Or am I supposed to be waiting for something else?

I will try to make it easy for you

Step 0: Collect the following Your 2007 Tax returns, w2, transcripts etc, your spouse DOB, Police clerance, Marriage certificate, divorce certificate, etc

Step 1: Call NVCto get your case number, if possible every day....

Step 2: Call every day and ask if the choice of agent has been generated....one its done...E-mail your DS3032....

Step 3: Pay your AOS fee online when you get your IIN

Step 4: Pay your Packet 4 fee

Step 5: Send Both Packet 4 and AOS doc to NVC

I'm a little bit more composed today.

This is all too exciting. Although nothing has happened with the NVC Case Number yet.

I'll keep calling.

Hang on though - so it is not immediately I get my case number that I email my DS-3023? I have to speak to an operator to let me know that my DS-3023 has been generated? right? That part isn't really clear in all the documents.

My dad has me my original birth certificate and a new one just in case. I am going to make certified copies and send them to my hubby along with all the other documents. I got my police certificate on Monday, he has our marriage certificate and my bio page so I will fill out the IV form and sign part 1 and sent as well. Once I get my mail from my Dad - who just doesn't understand urgency. lol!

Can't wait.. woohoo! In fact I will fill the form now.

How long does it typically take to get your NVC Case number and then for the DS3023 to get generated?

Has anyone had any luck squeezing their INN out of the operator?

How long does that take to come in the mail?

I can't help you will all your questions but here's what I can' help you with. It took us 3 days to get our case number. We e-mailed the DS-3203 right away. We had some difficulties but it took about 4 days from e-mailing the choice of agent to acceptance. And no, we had NO luck with the INN. They hold firm. But it makes sense, she told me that if things aren't done in order, you could get a false RFE which can add weeks to your process.
