I'm not sure if we're in a dilemma or not. :( My wife just got her GC with conditions last month. About a week ago or so she auditioned on the Disney Cruise Line as a dancer and face character, and got in. She leaves around June for 9months. Now my question is, will that be considering leaving the country, and will she have a problem returning. They will be traveling around the Caribbeans and Bahamas. We never applied for Advanced Parole or any reentry permits. Should we now? May I ask for anyones help and advice. We're starting to worry now. :help:

From what I understand the AP is only for travel when you don't have the green card yet. Once you receive the card you're free to travel.

Thanks for the quick response. Well we reside in Los Angeles. From what I understand she might have to fly to Florida. Thats where the Disney Cruise Line will depart. I guess its US flags?? She's going to be working there for nine months. We just went to our AoS interview last month and got approved. We never expected she'll be working on a ship. So her Philippine Passport with her Permanent Resident Card will be good enough?

(will make timeline)

Don't "guess". find out under which flag the vessel sails. This is quite important: if it sails under a US flag, there should be not much of an issue; and if it is a foreign flag (quite common with cruise lines); different rules might apply.

Now, if you live in CA and she moves to FL; how on earth would you prove common residence when time comes to remove conditions?

Unrequested advise: if I were her, I would take a job in CA. This might just unnecessarily complicate things for you guys.

Thanks for the advice Len. Well coincidentally DCL just called her back and asked her a few questions. They wont be allowing her on board after all due to the fact of her resident status. They also suggested she find a job locally at Disneyland. Such sad news for her, but that also less complicates common residency. Hopefully, she can find another audition out here. *sigh*
