Hello VJ's as i ask for your experience and advice again. Regarding the plane tickets. Which method is better? I really want to get my fiancee's ticket thru internet but im afraid at the airport she might have problems. Anyone been thru such problems buying a ticket here in the us or any other country thru internet and having problems at MNL? Or should I just send her money and let her get her own ticket?? Someone was saying on her before that their husband to be, bought them a ticket from over here and when she got to the airport she had all kinds of problems because her husbands credit card bill wasnt on the email receipt. I wouldnt dare put my credit card number on anything in the P.I. so im kinda confused on what to do here. Buy here(internet) or send money there?? Any suggestions would be much thankful :) thanks guys!!

Traditional paper tickets are becoming a rare breed now. Even if you purchase from a travel agency in Manila, chances are they will issue you an e-ticket. Went here via PAL using an e-ticket. No problems. IMO, the real issue is cost. Also, verify if travel tax is also included which is around $35.

I'm not Phil, but I've never had a problem buying tickets over the internet for my husband. In Albania, it is so much cheaper than using a local travel agent. I just send him the email from the travel company or airline (we use Turkish Airlines or Vayama) and he prints it, gets on his plane and meets me in Turkey.

The only airline to ever send me a real ticket (even when I bought from the airline directly) was Air France about 2 years ago.

Good Luck!

Be aware that some airlines require the passenger to produce the credit card used to purchase the tickets when they check in at the airport. This was the case for Hawaiian Airlines. I FedExed a credit card in my wife's name to her well in advance of her flight date.

I don't think so there might be a problem my husband is the one one who purchase my ticket here in the US using his credit card and using E-ticket no problem at all one thing is if you purchase a ticket here she might need to pay the travel tax at the airport upon check-in i used PAL last time, or maybe in some other online ticketing they might include travel tax, tell her to inquire first in the Phil. local travel agency and you also at the same time at least you can compare the rates, good luck!!

PAL wants a copy of the credit card too. Just email a scan of the front and back of credit caed used to purchase ticket.

Check Mobissimo and have your fiancee check locally for the best price.

I thought that buying tickets online was the most popular way nowadays. I have been buying airline tickets online for years now. I cant remember a time i actually went to an airport and bought a ticket like in the movies....lol.

Bottom line it is very safe, if you think about all an airline ticket is, is a confirmation# that you paid, and all th other info that sits behind that confirmation# is all they need to verify you, and know what your seating information is. I mean they just pull up that # and they got all they need. In fact would suggest airlines such as Hawaiin and PAL start allowing attachments to be added to those e-tickets so that passengers dont have that problem when getting to the airport.

Buy an e-ticket, but my other advice is that you should buy her ticket in the Philippines. Because you will get a tickets so much cheaper. I am going over to get my Marian, and we found some good tickets.
