I've looked at the instructions but I may have missed it - how should I include my photos in the package?

I was going to attach them to a piece of paper with a description on it, and then into a clear sleeve.

Will this work?

Thanks!!! :)

As all of our photos were digital, I just printed them out in standard paper and included a small blurb underneath each of them explaining the date/location/circumstances of each photograph.

We just printed ours out on regular paper (color for most of them) and had 2 per page. I added a little note on each about what they pic was about (b/c sometimes it just looked like people posing for photos).

I did not submit any photos with my application, since many people discouraged me from doing that.

I have never heard anyone being discouraged only that its not necessary, but it can't hurt too much i think

I ordered a photobook (6 by 8)- about $30 with about 16 pages - you can write any description - it shows up at the bottom of the pictures. You can have one or multiple pictures on each page. Pretty useful for this purpose really. Many websites (e.g. Kodak) offer these - they deliver within a week or less. Good Luck

I ended up getting some clear photo pages that hold two 4x6 photos on each side, so eight photos per sheet. There is a little slot to slip in a piece of paper with a description of the photo, I just printed those off on the pc. I'm sending about 15 photos with captions. Sounds like a lot, but it's only four photo sheets.

I also used one of the photo sheets to include some greeting cards that were sent to and addressed to both of us. I'm sending the originals because they just didn't photocopy well.

Mailing tomorrow!! :)

if you go by instruction they did not put picture as a evidence. infact i know through one person who was told by uscis that pictures dont comes under the category of a supporting evidence for I-751. though it has value if you go for interview.

We included a few photos, only 4 or so, printed on standard paper with a little blurb/year of photo, but we concentrated mostly on docs with joint financial information or docs with the just one of our names but with the same address. That is far more important as evidence than a million photos, but as queendlee said including photos certainly doesn't hurt.

Best of luck with the I-751 process!

I'm not sure I'd use the photo sheets. The first thing they have to do is make a copy of your file, so anything that will prevent them from putting a pile in the copy machine slot is removed.

I recently helped a friend with his fiancee package and he put a postdated check (which I told him not to do!) so they sent it back for a good check. They sent back the entire package, with all of the divider pages removed. We had printed his pictures like queendlee said, and they were still in there.

I printed the photos on plain paper and inserted them where they supported the matching documentation (ie boarding passes showing visits to family had group photos with family; letters from grandchildren showed pictures with grandchildren, cat's microchip registration documents had photos of us with cats, etc.). I used the photographs to support the documentary evidence.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

surely its not worth the trouble of getting an album and photos printed? If you need to send photos then you probably do not have enough evidence. I would concentrate on the other forms of evidence that make a better case for proving your marriage. Just look at the movie greencard - they posed on the roof of her apartment building to simulate a summer beach vacation. Save real colour photos for interview and just attach some photcopoies to I751 if you feel worried about the other evidence.

The real issue is...what have people ben doing for two year? You knew this day would come and you would need to provide evidence. Why not collect evidence as you go. TWO YEARS PEOPLE....its plenty of time to collect relevant proof.

We took our photos and taped them to 8.5x11 sheets, and then hand-wrote in legible printing a little blurb about what was in the photo, and the date and place it was taken. Two 4x6 photos fit on a standard notebook sized piece of paper easily enough. Then we took those pages and made color photocopies, and sent the color photocopies with our package. By sending the color photocopies, we made sure there was nothing to come un-taped or un-glued. And we kept the originals for our records.

As to whether photos are useful, maybe. We included ours because they showed us in front of a lot of recognizable landmarks, and therefore demonstrated that we travelled together quite a bit. I suspect we would have been approved without the photos, but they were fun to put together. Anyway, it shouldn't take long for the officer to thumb through a few photos, so it's not as bad as including lots of pages of printed documents that the officer would have to actually read.

I'm not worried about not having enough evidence - this is what I'm sending:

I had the photos printed because I got them for free. So why not?

  • Copies of the passport and green card for Simon
  • Copy of our tax returns for 2007 and 2006 prepared by Brigid Mxxxxx, CPA
  • Copies of the cover sheets of our Social Security Statements, both sent to our common address
  • Copies of utility bills showing both our names at our common address
  • Letter from my company (company name) of the designation of my life insurance and 401k to Simon as beneficiary
  • Copy of a statement for a loan taken by both of us for improvements on our home (Hansons’ Windows and Siding)
  • Copies of notices from our joint bank account with XYZ Bank
  • Copies of letters showing us as beneficiary on each other’s life insurance policies through ABC Financial
  • Copy of the trip summary and receipt for our trip together to England in 2007
  • A wedding invitation from a friend in England addressed to both of us
  • Three original Christmas cards addressed to both of us from various friends and family
  • Various photographs of us together alone and with friends and family over the past two years

This is far more than what I've seen others send and still get approved. And after going back to look at my original K-1 package, these photo pages are the same style I used then with no issues and no RFEs. Guess I forgot that I used them before!!
