If my memory serves me right, I read here a while ago about cases in which applicants found their noa2 hard copy in the mail, but USCIS site still saying "case received and pending".

How often do you guys read about something like that ?

US Citizen since 08/11/2015.

happened to us... hard copy NOA2 received and the case file was long on the way to the Embassy before the e-mail came

I remember one poster (who is now married several years) always said his wife's case file still indicates "pending" now several years later

YMMV

We are halfway through NVC and according to the USCIS website, our case is still pending also! I signed up for e-mail notice when status changes and I still haven't received an e-mail to say we were approved...lol. We were approved on Jan. 29th and didn't know until a few days later when we got the hard copy in the mail. Seems like that happens a lot!
