K3: are vaccines required?

hey, people, I need your help! my question in the topic title is more a rhethoric one. it seems to me that everyone knows that nonimmigrant visa applicants are not required to obtain any vaccines before the issuance of their K3 visa. everyone except of the doctor who does the medical examination here in vienna! even after a small research, he is convinced that me and my son have to get the vaccines. do not get me wrong: I am totally PRO vaccines and my son gets immunized according to the austrian immunization schedule (he got even some vaccines more than required or paid by the state, as it was my wish to know him immunized against some rare, but dangerous deseases). BUT i find it horrible that he has to get 3 vaccines (varicella, hep A, flu) at once, and he is only 17 months old. our interview is in 2 weeks and the vaccines should be done by then. he will get those vaccines, that is what i have planned even before the medical test, but not in one day!!! I have relied on the information that no vaccines will be required, so we did not go for the varicella vaccination yet (only for example). I thought there is enough time...

what can I do? should I talk to an embassy officer and ask him/her to talk to the doctor? or is it possible that the us embassy in vienna does require the vaccination even for the nonimmigrant visa applicants?
