I went to Walmart and checked out the TV's there... from a distance you really couldn't tell the difference between 120HZ and 60HZ

the TV that has the best picture and colours though was the 32 inch Sony... wow.. the bigger Sony's didn't seem as good...

I have a 32 in Samsung LCD with specs of 1080P, 120Hz. Comparing it to the same TV with 240 Hz or my 42 in with 240 Hz and I can see a huge difference in pictures with a lot of movement. It really depends on what you are watching.

It's possible you didn't get as good a look at those TVs as you think. Watching live video on store TVs isn't a good way to measure the quality of the TV's picture for a number of reasons. The viewing angles are poor, the TVs are not necessarily all adjusted properly, and the demo video is meant to make all TVs look amazing. Still photos are the best way to check for a quality picture in the store: bring some high-res family photos on a USB and use those to compare.

well I did say "from a distance" you really couldn't tell the difference but up close you could tell there was a slight difference :P it also depends on the brand of TV because I was looking at two TV's with the same specs but one looked better then the other...

so now that we have the TV bought we are contemplating getting a blu-ray player.. it probably wouldn't be any time soon..

there are just so many choices.. :P I would like one for under $150 that possibly supports Netflix and Divx files.. but if I had to choose I would want it to play DIVX files
