LOS ANGELES (AP) - In a videotaped squabble with her mother posted Monday on a gossip Web site, the woman who gave birth to octuplets said she had no choice but to use the embryos she had because her only other option was to destroy them.

"I'm not going to destroy the embryos, period. Done, done, done," Nadya Suleman told her mother in a video taken last week and posted on RadarOnline.com. "You can't go back and alter the past." Angela Suleman had told her daughter that "you should have considered your six other children" before going through the in vitro fertilization procedure that led to her to give birth to another eight children last month. "They were frozen and you did not have to do anything," Angela Suleman said.

"They were lives," her daughter responded. "... You either use them or destroy them."

Nadya Suleman said donating the embryos to someone else was not an option. "I couldn't even fathom the idea of having my own children out in the world" without knowing them, she said. Suleman has said six embryos were implanted for each of her six pregnancies, including four single births and one set of twins. In her last pregnancy, two of the six embryos split to create eight babies. The fertility treatments appear to violate national guidelines that specify no more than two embryos for a healthy woman under 35.

Suleman has not responded to repeated interview requests from The Associated Press. Her phone has been disconnected and she no longer has a publicist. Single and unemployed, Suleman gave birth to octuplets on Jan. 26. All 14 of her children were conceived through in vitro fertilization, with sperm from an unidentified, platonic friend, the 33-year-old mother has said.

On ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday, a former boyfriend of Suleman's said he wants DNA testing to determine if he's the father of the octuplets and her older children.

Denis Beaudoin told ABC that he donated sperm to Suleman during their three-year relationship in the late 1990s because she claimed to have ovarian cancer. He claims Suleman's older children bear a resemblance to him.

ABC said Suleman denied Beaudoin was the donor she used to conceive her children. When pressed, she admitted he had donated sperm but insisted it wasn't used in any of her pregnancies, the network said. Her first child was born in 2001. Regardless of whether DNA tests show he is the father, Beaudoin, a divorced father of two, pledged to help Suleman, because "it's hard nowadays to raise two kids, let alone 14 kids."

All the fertility doctors have been saying that implanting one embryo for women under the age of 35 and two embryos for women above 35 is the norm. She keeps making it sound like she had no choice. That woman is not right in the head, but I place more of the responsibility of the fertility doctor for being so unethical as to risk the health of his patient and the unborn children.

(This is part of a larger problem)

At $12,000 or more per attempt at in vitro fertilization - in which an egg is fertilized outside the woman's body and then implanted in the womb - couples demand the best odds of getting pregnant. Often, that means pushing doctors to implant as many embryos as they can.

The health dangers - to both mothers and babies - of multiple births are well-documented. Yet the strongest resistance Nulsen faces in his crusade to reduce multiple births comes from infertile couples themselves.

"You tell [doctors] to bring out all their weapons," said Milford lawyer Anita Flannigan Steenson, who has spent $70,000 and lost tens of thousands in potential income in her pursuit of pregnancy.

As the nation debates the moral status of embryos and whether they should be used in research, fertility specialists have honed their ability to identify the most viable embryos for in vitro fertilization. Even so, every day in fertility clinics, where heartbreak or joy can hang on each decision, economics and desperation often trump ethical and health concerns.

"[Couples] tell me, `We can only afford one shot at this,'" Nulsen said. "They shove the multiple-birth issue far off to one side. I tell them they will have a greater risk of having twins or triplets, and they say, 'Good.'"

She only had 6 kids so she obviously needed 8 more. Where's your humanity?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

The state could sue him for the cost of all whatever help the mother gets from the state, especially since he was the doctor who implanted embryos into the mother before.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
