Well, we are nearing the end of the VJ and the stress seems to be mounting. What did you do to relieve the stress? I am blessed because I have been able to be with my wife during the process start to finish but as the end of the process approaches (waiting on case complete from NVC) we seem to be more stressed than at any other time during our filing process. Is this normal and how did others get through it without major disagreements. It seems we are being overly critical of each other in areas that never would have been an issue before. I am thinking this is the stress related to the upcoming medical and interview. Any suggestions would help.

I went to the Interview at the Embassy with my fiance, it was a piece of cake, only lasted a few minutes with basic questions.

I think the medical is pretty easy, from what I have read.

I worked and fished to keep my mind clear during the whole process.

I'm on the same boat as you are. I guess it's just natural to feel the stress level getting higher'coz we are almost there and many things are going on in our mind at the same time . Whenever i feel like I'm getting stressed out, I usually walk away from the computer( which have been my bestfriend 24/7 throughout this whole process! lol) and watch a feel-good or comedy movie. When we are not focused, our tendency is to read and surf more in the internet hoping to find the answer to all the questions that we have and we just end up getting more stressed..

Most of all, I pray for God's guidance in every step and decision that I make.

Goodluck to all of us!

thank you for the reply! It definitely helped. It is a little hard to watch movies here in the Philippines, everything is in Tagalog and the family hasn't a clue if i try to watch an English movie. hehehe but i got the point, take a break from the process. Think I'll go to church and lite a candle or 2.

Hi All!

I do agree with you all. In our case, we're almost there and it's more stressful everyday. Mikee would always tell me not to stay in front of the computer all the time but I end up digging VJ's posts everyday hoping to see answers. Our love for each other is what keep us going, our faith and the will not to give up.

Thanks to Mikee for being so patient and understanding to me and thanks to this site too.

honestly, this has been a stressful journey for me...i am just lucky coz for the past 4 months bf was here to celebrate xmas and new year.

but since he went back home already..whenever i feel stressed, i go out with friends or watched a movie or go to the church..

as much as possible i dont want to always be infront of the computer coz it will just make me feel more stressed...especially a lot of my friends were approved already :(

patience is a virtue indeed

Just remember the real journey is after the visa. The stress you feel here is nothing compared to the stress or rather challenge in being a couple with one moving to another life. But that's life and it's what makes living great. :)

Timeline

Stress and getting paranoid because of the visa processing is part of our journey. I too felt the same way before especially when my visa was administrative review because I was still waiting for my police clearance and the consul never said anything like "visa approve or visa denied". I went out the room from my interview full of doubts, worries and stress. From NVC approval to interview at USEM was full of stress. I even lost weight, I'm skinny but visa processing made me skinnier. Now, that I'm here with my hubby I'm trying to get back all my energy and weight that I lost during my journey.

Medical exam: yes it stressful because you'll never know if you have health problem or not cuz some disease doesn't have symptoms. During my medical exam, I tried to be relaxed but I can't sleep wondering what would be the result. And after I got my result I look funny cuz I worried something that need Not to get worried. In ther interview, I felt exhausted but I trust God. He is soveriegn. The most important thing is that trust in the Lord. Let him work into you. He will help us. He is just waiting for us to call for his help.

Opposite for us because no stress at all. The nearer the interview the more excited we were because we knew we would be together after sometime apart. We were both confident the interview would go well because we had all of the requirements needed . I was not there with Myla when she had her K1 interview but thank God, by 9:00 she was already done and walking out of the embassy with a big smile on her face because we were approved.

What also helped is the fact that we were both working at that time, so whatever free time we had, we spent it chatting and talking on the phone.

Be positive and the most important thing is have all the documents required for the interview.

Goodluck!

No it's not the domicile issue as much as the medical and interview itself. To be honest we are totally prepared for everything we can be but it is the fear of the unknown that is keeping us stressed. The dreaded "what ifs" I feel like a father pacing the waiting room for my wife to give birth for the first time! LOL just nerves i guess.
