I HAVE YET TO DO MY TAXES FOR THIS YEAR....BUT MY QUESTION WOULD BE IF I GET ANYTHING NOW SAY TO FILL OUT THE AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT WHICH YEARS WOULD THEY BE LOOKING AT. PREVIOUS OR CURRENT?

I WOULD THINK LAST YEARS CAUSE DON'T U HAVE UNTIL APRIL 15TH TO GET THIS YEARS DONE?

That's correct, I submitted the AOS with 2007, 2006, and 2005 information and tax transcripts. I then plan on having copies of the 2008 taxes ready if asked for at the interview.

no you don't have to mail in 2008

we send it in cause 2005 is not filled yer either (CORRECTION WILL EVENTUALLY SEND IT IN SOME DAY)

making 3 years 2008, 07, 06

he claims 06 easier to file for him then 2005

you can send in 2005 - 2007

But I understand you are now only requested to show 1 year, the others help stablish a better case, from what i understand (which is not alot haha as you can see)

I dont think it deters, but you are trying to show that you will be able to support your spouse, so its really your choice. The requirement is 1 year, and the other evidence is to help support your case. with that regard, I sent 3 years of tax returns and W2s, 6 months of pay stubs, and a job employment letter.

Yes, just keep in mind that a number of folks on VJ have recommended sending in more than 1 year worth of tax returns.

Well, if by some miracle (we are Oct/Nov filers), my husband and I get our interview before April 15th, I won't have 2008 taxes to show. Every year I owe and I refuse to send my $ one day before its due. Why should the government that won't even allow my spouse in the country earn any extra interest on my $ ????? Grrr.

BTW- had cake for breakfast today too. Only one piece left so the party is over soon.

You should send your w-2's with him then, if he does get an interview before Apr 15th.

Some people have reported that the consulate went ahead and approved the visa but wont release it until seeing the 08 tax returns. maybe if you send the w-2's this will deter it.

Just be patient . Its so hard being in this kind of situation. being so far away from the one you love. I just got approved today by VERMONT NATIONAL CENTER it took me exactly 4 mths today. I recieved an email from the CRIS THIS MORINING AT 530 AM. NOW I WAIT FOR THE INTERVIEW.
