Misspelled Name on EAD

I noticed today that the USCIS misspelled my wife's first name on her EAD card. They transposed two of the letters. (Although we received the card earlier in the week, I never actually looked at it. My wife looked at it and said it looked good.)

I scheduled an Infopass appointment, but the earliest one available for Orlando is June 30th. We were planning on going by the Social Security office on Monday to apply for SSN. Hopefully, the people over there will use common sense allow her to still apply while we wait to get the EAD card sorted out.

Has anybody else been through a similar situation? I read the posts Minfay posted about the gender being wrong. Hopefully, the process will be has simple as she was told.

I guess this mistake is a good reminder that we are dealing with a "goverment operation." :crying:
