Couple questions about politics

Does it bother anyone else that only natural born citizens can become President of the United States? It just doesn't seem fair; one can immigrate to Canada and become Prime Minister. What are they afraid of? Naturalized citizens will not have allegiance to the United States?

Also, does anyone know if after I become a US citizen could I lose my citizenship if I run for political office in Canada?

Last, were any of you excited about this past election?

I HATE miles, gallons, pints, words spelled without u's, and all that other jazz...

It bothers me more that our government and courts seem to cater to foreign influence and illegals rather than citizens

Nope, not excited, but nothing against the candidate, I just don't find politics exciting.

We've got a few Canadians who were elected to high office. How many American-born Canadians can say the same? Part of it assumes there has to be at least one competent American who can be president and they're aren't any questions about dual loyalty.

Last, were any of you excited about this past election?

Interested, yes. Excited, no.

Interestley how about Norman K Atkins - born in New Jersey Viola Legere born in Massachusetts Bruce Hyer born in Connecticut, Larry Spencer born in Missouri. The Canadian House of Parliament is made up people who have come from a vast array of countries - Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Poland, Netherlands, UK just to mention a few - they certainly seem to be a very diverse group!

OK, you found a few but they're not household names in the U.S. The U.S. has few as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_forei...tes_politicians.

Couldn't find any examples for the UK but maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough.

I counted 3 Canadian born US politicians... I focused on the American born in Canada because you were specific about Canada .... but just for a fair and balanced view I realised some on the wiki list you provided go back to the 1800's ! I tried to keep my list relatively modern.
