Biometrics letter screw up

Hi there!

Today my husband got his letter with his appointment time for biometrics for his I485 and I765... after it got shuffled around by the post office for a week and a half because USCIS still sent it to the wrong address, a month after we informed them of our change in address (all the appropriate forms, informed them over the phone, and letters to both old and new offices).

To make a long story short, the office he was assigned to go to is not where we live now. It's, well, halfway across the country. Is there any way for him to get this appointment switched to a more local office (we are in Chicago)? Flying and then renting a car to go to this office that we shouldn't isn't something that we can afford unless there's no other alternative.

Any suggestions?

Thanks kezzie. :)

Any other ideas, or will the infopass be able to take care of the problem?
