I have a friend that just got married this month and wants to know how much does it cost to start the paperwork for the K3 visa process. I have done mine before the changes happen. So in not sure if you pay the price of I-130 because it says that the I-129F has no fee if the you file K3. But I see a fee of $455 for I-129F and $355 for the I-130. So which one should be used?

you just pay the 130 filing fee.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

That is correct. Although the I-129F is free for a spouse after an I-130 is filed, the current best practice for most people is NOT to file the I-129F at all, and just go the CR1 visa route.

Thanks,

Now will he have to still send along the I-129F with the I-130 even though he is paying the fees of the I-130? I was told that you still have to send both since it K3.

after he gets the NOA from the 130, he will then file the 129f with a copy of the 130 NOA.

you dont want to file them together at the same time.
