Does anyone on here know anything about how RFE's work once you submit the requested documents? We sent ours in exactly 1 month ago. We still haven't heard anything from USCIS, but we've received a lot of "touches" since we sent the document in. Does anyone know how long RFE's should take? Should we be worried? Any helpful information on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

i'm in the same boat. all you can do is wait and if it takes longer than 60 days you can call. i've seen some rfe's get approval within days, weeks, and months. there's no standard. good luck! :star:

Maybe it depends on what the RFE was for? who knows... should also include the date of your RFE request in your timeline pls :)

I believe it does depend alot on what the RFE is for. Ours was a problem with the translation of my husband's divorce papers. I don't recall all of the exact dates but I know I mailed them the response to the RFE in December 07 and our I-129 was approved the end of January 2008. So about 2 months for them to receive it and then send our approval notice. I don't know if there were any "touches" to the file as I have never even figured out how everyone learns of these "touches"... mystery to me..

But again I think it depends a lot on what the RFE is for and how long it takes them to analyze what you submit to determine if it satisfies them or not.

Good luck!

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Good old days when they processed majority of RFEs within two weeks of the receiving the requested documentation... :( Maybe I've missed them but I haven't noticed any recent RFE being approved within couple of days.

Ours was really simple tick box question and since we returned it, we've been touched for three days in a row but nothing else - case still pending. Two weeks on and counting... :clock:

It depends on the adjuticator. As explained by a former adjuticator, a case that is sent an RFE is put aside until the evidence arrives or until that adjuticator works on those cases missing evidence. Each is very different and times vary. There is an RFE sticky thread here. Perhaps you can get more of an idea by looking at the timelines of those folks. ;) Hopefully those of you waiting will hear something very soon. :)

Thanks Kim. I tried to read that thread as soon as we got our RFE but have you seen the size of it?! :wow: It's like reading the "War and Peace" !!! (probably a bit more interesting though :P). I gave up 1/3 way through :( and decided for my sanity's sake, I'm better off just being ignorant :)

I looked at all the people from VSC on igor's, particularly the people who filled in august and sept and it looks like most petitions have been approved 3-4 weeks after the RFE, some people may not have replied right away to the RFE which is something to consider but anyways im getting off topic, it looks like RFEs are taking about a month and not 10 days atm so hang in there Kat and allie :)
