Ok, so for my daughter and me, doing the CR1/CR2 route will cost us just over $1600 USD, plus medicals, right?

$400 for you, $400 for your daughter ... plus $70 I-864 AOS fee ... plus medicals ($870 + medicals)

The only thing I'm NOT 100% on is if there is the $70 I-864 fee on each visa, or if it is just on yours. Even if there was a fee on BOTH visas, that would make it $940 + medicals, not $1600.

Someone else can chip in on the I-864 fee, but I think it's only for the CR1 ...

The $1010 fee is only if going the K3 route. That is the fee you pay within 2 years of getting your K3 to adjust your status while living in the US.

Oh, I thought for my daughter and myself, we had to pay?

I-130: $355 x 2

NVC I-864: $70 x2

NVC Visa fee: $400 ($355+$45) x2

$825 x 2 = $1,650 plus medical

I'm sorry Stiggy, I was under the assumption that you had already filed your I-130 and paid the fees. So yes, you have to add the $355 x 2 to your total ... Your math is correct

You are correct. SteveColo wasn't counting the two I-130 filing fees. Steve does have a point though with regard to up-front cost of getting everybody here. It's less expensive, filing to visa, to go the K3 route but more expensive in the long run. If the priority is to get the spouse here earning an income to help "afford" the status adjustment costs, K3 is certainly a viable option.

On the other hand, Steve's USCIS fees after wife an two children arrive are quite high.

I-130 X 2 for two children $710

Three AOS fees $3,030 for a total of $3,740. (maybe a little less depending on the ages of the children)

Often people forget each child eventually needs an I-130 to adjust from a K4. K2 doesn't but K4 does.

People have to work with their own cash flow but the CR1 route will get the spouse work authorized three or four months sooner. That might be enough to temp some people to borrow the up-front money to save so much in the long run. For Steve the extra in the long run is $2,728 or more than double the overall cost. Bringing three people on CR visas only costs $2,470, not counting medicals and travel.
