Is there a number to call Yahoo? I have been going through hell trying to get my Yahoo email account unlocked. What's really weird is when I type in www.yahoo.com on the address line it comes back with http://www.m.yahoo.com I never saw that before either.

I have tried to deal with the problem through emails but haven't received a response. This sucks because Yahoo was my account for everything so all my bill notices and friends links are there. Ugh

by locked, do you mean wrong password, account disabled, or what?

you can get into your account if it's still active even if you don't know the password.

Have you tried optimizing your browser? (Deleting cache and cookies and temporary internet files and clearing SSL state) and then power cycle your PC (doing a restart). Then try again to access yahoo.com

What browser are you using? Safari, IE or Firefox?

A few weeks ago my husband discovered all of his e mails and folders were deleted. What was going on with that is still a mystery.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

when I try to log into my email it just give me an error that my user ID or password are invalid. When I attempted to use Messenger I got a message that my account was locked. I have sent emails but so far no response, only the automated message. I did figure out the www.m.yahoo.com, that is the new version of Yahoo.

Check and see if your cookies are still active by going here: http://my.yahoo.com

If not, try logging in from there. If you can't, select "forgot password", and they should sent your new password to your secondary account.

Is he using an email client like outlook express, Windows mail, Thunderbird, etc? If he is using one of those email clients and his emails and folders were deleted, it means that he needs to make some adjustments on the configuration (checking the option that says, "Leave a copy of messages on the server") so that the copy of his emails will remain in the webmail.

Damn, that isn't good news. I guess I need to find alternatives to saving important emails. One of the emails I lost was an email from my brother on the day he died. I cherish that email and it just breaks my heart to have possibly lost it. All my business emails with the farm in the Philippines is there too.

We've got several ideas to try to get around "Invalid ID or password. Please try again."

  • Set your CAPS LOCK key correctly. Passwords are case sensitive (so PASSWORD, PaSsWoRd, and password are not equivalent). Be sure to keep this in mind when entering your password.
  • Wait up to 24 hours. If you recently requested a new password or changed your password, this allows your account to update.
  • Sign in with the correct Yahoo! ID. Make sure that you are using the correct Yahoo! ID when signing in to your account. If you forgot your Yahoo! ID, you can search for your Yahoo! ID? online.
  • Delete your cookie files. A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser that helps identify you. If your cookie isn't being accepted correctly, you'll be logged out of your account as soon as you move to a different page.

To delete your cookies, close all browser windows, find the "cookies" directory, and delete the cookie files inside. To find cookies directories on a PC, search for "cookies" using the Search function in your Start menu that pops up from the lower-left corner. On a Mac, press Command-F to start Sherlock, which searches your system.

  • Clear your browser's cache. At times it's necessary to clear your browser's cache. The cache is the memory your browser uses to store content of the web pages that you visit. Storing that content lets your browser load those same pages more quickly the next time you visit them.
If you're still having problems after trying these steps, please request a new password?. When you receive your new password, you can change it.
