I read the guides here and it says assets are worth about 1/5 of what they are in reality..so if i had $10000 in my savings, it would count as $2000 on the I134 in the assets section. In another book, I read that they are worth 1/3 of what they are...so if I had 10000, it would be approximate $3333 in additional assets. Do any of you know which one is correct?? Thank you for your help!!

Your have it wrong on both counts. You disclose the actual value of the assets. For a spouse or fiance, three dollars in liquid assets can offset one dollar of income shortfall. For other family members the ratio is five to one. If your income is clearly sufficient, you may simply skip/leave blank all asset related questions on any affidavit of support.

Probably. Liquid assets means something you would reasonably turn into cash within a year. In most cases, car and equipment wouldn't be considered "liquid". Unless you're self employed, use "gross income" not AGI.

yeah, the majority of my assets would be $$ which would obviously be liquid assets. I am using the information off my california W2s (state taxes), that would be considered gross income, correct?

First, they use GROSS income, not AGI, if that makes a difference for you. I would recommend a co-sponsor, though you may not need it. If you have only one car they may not accept it and the values can be hard to determine, same with "other equipment" which they will tend to give "garage sale" values to. You are probably to close to the limit to go it alone and feel comfortable.

The gross income for an employee will be the largest number on the W2 form plus any other income. On the 1040, it's line 22, total income.
