Another Rice Question

if you compare that price to the prices of rice in the phils, thats a bit high. rice in the phils is 47 pesos for 1 kilo which is 1$ for 2.2 lbs. but since youre in america, might as well buy what you can find, i guess rice must be a bit pricey there.

For us it is nice to have several Asian stores in our city.

Right now while gas has decreased in price ,it went from 20 dollars for 25 pounds to 18, and 38 dollars for 50 pounds from 42 dollars. And as others have said it is the standard to have Jasmine Rice at all the stores.

It is by far the best rice, and most consistent in cooking. The only difference we have found is that old crop, verses new crop can vary as far as how much water you use. It only varies slightly, but not enough for it to be a big deal, but it can vary. We buy it by the 50 pound bag, and it goes very quickly, so I guess we will pay what ever is needed.

I have reached a point where i love Rice, and have quit buying potatoes all together with the exception of stews and hot dishes requiring them...GOD BLESS RICE!

We get Jasmine rice in Cerritos at about from $24 or $28 per 50 pound sacks.
